The location is great, right next to Takayama Station. The breakfast is wonderful too, with a variety of western and japanese style breakfast foods, and honestly, one of the better japanese style breakfasts we had on our trip. The rooms are spacious and clean, but the washer/dryer combo is lacking and left our clothes pretty wrinkled.

Wonderful place to stay in Takayama one minute walk from the train station, which is great specially if you are staying for a couple of nights. If you are staying longer, maybe you qill prefer a hotel that is nearer to the main attractions and more dinning options.

Check in was fast and the front desk personnel were able to speak English well. We reserved a room that had two twin beds and an adjoining tatami mat sitting room that could also function as additional bedroom with futons. The room and bathroom were very clean and in great condition. There was even a washing machine in the room so we could run a load of laundry. (It is also a dryer). Breakfast buffet was good and we also had dinner there one night; you can choose a main course (sukiyaki, etc) and also get the buffet to go with it. The staff is very efficient and friendly. The location is fantastic as it is right next door to the train station and the bus station and a short walk to the Old Town. I highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again.
