Could be a 5 star stay with a few inexpensive fixes
Pros: updated unit, nice bathroom, quality towels, dining area & living room seats for 5, ski-in location (via Whitefeather Green run - a cut off road where Snowcats travel), quiet end unit, pretty view, gas fireplace really heated the safe nicely, quick 10 min walk & gondola ride to villageCons: skillets/sauce pans were unsafe with heavily scratched/chipped teflon; could only use an 8qt pot for cooking which made it very difficult/lengthy with only one large burner on stovetop, microwave light was broke and no overhead light so very dark when cooking on stovetop had to use phone lights to see if meat was cooked, no mixing bowls or casserole dishes so we were unable to bake our brownies or planned casseroles, dishwasher is not attached to cabinet & rocking back and forth when opened, no kitchen washcloth provided only a sponge which was cut in half (so small), cooking utensils were old & melted & necessary ones not provided. Kitchen needs to be reviewed to ensure items are provided for ability to cook/bake. It made for a rough stay for us - my simple meals became difficult or impossible costing us additional money for unplanned meals out.Bed pillows need updated - very flat and uncomfortable. Ski Out needs to be updated with new construction/roads in between unit and lift. The walk to the lift/gondola wasn't bad about 5-7 mins down the driveway and by the Mogul Medical building. We still enjoyed ourselves and would stay in the unit again if the above things were fixed.
Good location to Taos ski resort. Ski in Ski out is not well marked. Ski out is not good...ski back is easy once we figured it out. Wine glasses are plastic! Extra towels would have been nice. Overall good for our needs.
It is actually a lot nicer than the pictures! The space is great and it has a nice kitchen with all you need to cook. We were worried we might be a little cramped with 6 people but it wasnât cramped at all. There is even a separate w/d and a grill with chairs that have an amazing view. My only regret is that we didnât stay longer. We will definitely be going back!!!
This condo was excellent primarily due to its location. The property management company Abode was also awesome to work with, they even helped us with groceries and getting luggage from the Blake (we flew in on Taos air) for a fee and allowed us to avoid needing a rental car. The unit is old, but remodeled. It has a true old school ski condo feel with lots of log cabin style wood, etc. The beds are extremely comfortable. There was a problem with the shower unit we had to work around, that hopefully the owners will address, but otherwise it was a perfect stay. The ski in is super easy- like truly amazing! The ski out is definitely harder but my Blue/sometimes Black skiers could handle it and if you have to walk down the road it isn't too far.
Condo was at end unit - good for noise- but a little walk from parking lot. Wish there was mirror in bedroom
And a few other items like pot holder/ oven mitt and cheese grater would have been nice. Beds comfortable. Enjoyed our stay!!
Location was great for skiing in. The ski out trail was a little tricky though. Parking at the Condo can be challenging too. The condo could use some TLC in the shower and around the front door. The overhead shower head was splitting apart and snow was coming in around the front door with the gusty winds. The town of Taos is 30 minutes south along with all of your fuel and groceries. The condo itself had all of the essentials needed for cooking and what not. The ski village and Taos close earlier than expected. Lifts stop at 4:00pm and the most of the shops close at 7:00. We were exceptionally lucky with the fresh 18â of powder and fantastic ski conditions, which minimized all of the issues we encountered. All things considered, I would recommend staying here with the warnings that I mentioned above. The Family and I had a great time at Taos but, we wonât be back till we visit some other Mountains. Variety is the spice of life.
