Our Toronto Home Away from Home
Posted May 23, 2024 on HomeAwayHelen is an excellent host and has provided, the lucky few who find her property, with all the comforts they will need to enjoy their stay.
First impressions as we drove up were high as the neighborhood was well maintained, quiet, and very easy to navigate in and around. We clicked our way through the electronic lock (a big plus as I usually misplace house keys) and we were greeted with a beautifully maintained, extremely clean, and visually appealing home Helen has created.
The basement provides a working area for the working traveler, a treadmill for walking on the rainy, cold, hot, whatever days when you don’t want to venture out, and a full sized laundry for guest that have an extended stay. Well lit, maintained, and inviting all around. The main floor provided an open floor plan of living area (with a Roku enabled large screen TV), dining area (with seating for 6 with rom to spare), and large kitchen with all the appliances and tools needed to make a simple breakfast down to a gourmet meal. A well-placed half bath is available on the main floor which was spotless on our arrival. There was a sunny deck off the kitchen where morning coffee or an evening drink can be savored without feeling spied on by the neighbors. The upper level gives three luxurious bedrooms (1 king, 2 queens) with windows treatments that allowed for privacy but did not limit the sunlight from pouring in. Great house and location
Posted Aug. 19, 2023 on HomeAwayThe location was about 40 minutes from downtown Toronto. Neighborhood was very quiet except a few barking dogs. Very convenient access to grocery stores and restaurants on Yonge St. Kitano is a great sushi spot and golden bubbles ice.cream shop is fantastic.
Traveller suggestion: Toronto and all nearby suburbs seem to exist in a perpetual rush hour traffic jam it is quite remarkable. If your intention is to visit downtown attractions my recommendation is use the yellow subway line from the Pioneer Village station. The station has a large commuter lot costs $7 per day, far cheaper than downtown. The yellow line has stations near all major attractions or very short walks from various stops. I also suggest the City Pass.

Great family home for Toronto and beyond

This was a perfect place to base the family for the Greater Toronto area and beyond. The neighbourhood was quiet yet easily accessible from the highways with supermarkets close by. The house had 3 good sized bedrooms with plenty of space in the living areas and kitchen with further space available in the basement. Helen was always responsive throughout the stay. Highly recommended.

Close to Canada’s Wonderland
Posted Jul. 18, 2023 on HomeAwayI liked the location and how clean everything was in the house. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious. We stayed here as a base to go to Canada’s Wonderland. The only suggestion I have is that more bath towels should be provided. One thing to know: The house/condo is directly connected to another house so you can hear noises from the neighbors, and be able to see directly into other houses. However, the noises are subdued and just keep the curtains closed. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Worst experience ever !! Don’t book this home
Posted Nov. 15, 2022 on HomeAwayHelen’s , place was not what it looked like at all check in was so much of a hassle she gave ma code for check in which did not work after trying multiple times on top of that she gives me another code which didn’t work either. Then when I finally got in her wifi was not working at all she had no remote for the tv the place was freezing cold.. no cleaning supplies not even a broom upstairs master bedroom her tiles were broken which she did not award me of
I was walking and slipped so bad on the
Flood injured myself. Worst stay ever do not book this home!! Complete disaster we were so uncomfortable her comforters weren’t even clean.

This false review was left by a very disrespectful guest Monara who did not comply with my house rules by throwing loud and wild overnight parties throughout her stay which disturbed the neighbors and required police intervention. The damages caused by Monara were significant. This guest should not be part of VRBO community.

Clean and Comfortable!
Posted Oct. 3, 2022 on HomeAwayWe had a great stay in Oak Ridges. The house was perfect to accommodate our family of 4 (2 kids and 2 parents). The house was super clean and had lots of room for our stuff in the bedroom drawers and in the kitchen. Nice layout of house (I could keep an eye on kids playing in living room while I was in kitchen). We enjoyed exploring the neighborhood and the surrounding areas - lots of green spaces and playgrounds. Thank you for hosting us!
