We were really looking forward to our stay at El Conquistador based on the pictures, but unfortunately, it ended up being pretty underwhelming.
We booked a "Mountain View" room, but were placed on the first floor, where the only thing we could really see was the hill leading up to the parking lot — definitely not what we expected. The room had a patio, but since it wasn’t enclosed and we were on the ground level, the added security gate they promote didn’t make much difference.
The room itself felt dated, and the overall property seems like it’s showing its age. Walking to our room, we noticed moths in the hallway, which didn’t add to the experience.
It feels like this resort may have been really nice at one point, but it's in need of better upkeep and attention to detail. Not the relaxing stay we were hoping for.
