Staff was very helpful, they all spoke English very well too which was convenient. The place is very nice, well maintained, and easy to get around/to the Medina market. We had dinner at the roof top restaurant and the food was delicious.

Dar El Medina is a beautiful, historic hotel tucked right in the heart of Tunis’s Old Medina — truly a special place to stay. The rooms are spacious and full of traditional charm, and the rooftop terrace overlooking the medina is just stunning. Breakfast deserves its own shoutout — it’s not a buffet but a sit-down meal that’s so delicious and generous I didn’t need to eat again for the rest of the day! The Wi-Fi works perfectly too, which isn’t always a given in historic buildings. But what truly sets Dar El Medina apart is the staff. Every single person I encountered was warm, friendly, and went above and beyond to help. When I lost my passport, they were incredible — helping me search, contact the right people, and prepare everything for an emergency replacement. The breakfast waiters always greeted me with big smiles and were so attentive. If you’re coming to Tunis, don’t think twice — Dar El Medina is the place to stay.

Memorable wonderful stay in a most unique, quiet and safe property in the historic Medina. Perfect for adventurous travelers, not the Marriott crowd. Incredibly friendly and attentive staff made the stay simply wonderful. Highly recommend having dinner at the rooftop restaurant as well, and coordinate airport transfer with the hotel to avoid airport taxis. Enjoy the Medina!

Fabulous hotel in the medina

The rooms were so beautiful - we stayed in Bibi and it was divine, from the oval white plaster ceiling with Arabic calligraphy, to the en suite bathroom. The breakfast was fantastic with great variety and the staff was really nice.
