We knowingly picked an older property for its charm. Enjoyed premises and garden. Good base from which to explore San Sebastián up to Biarritz.

This is a piece of heaven, especially for tourists who are hiking in the Pyrenees. What a delightfull garden and what a friendly staff! One tip for customers: choose a room on the garden-site of the hotel, so you won't hear the debates of the guests of the neighboring café/restaurant when you want to sleep.

We had a lovely stay here with my husband’s parents. 2 rooms on the 1st floor. Rooms were clean and spacious. It was quite warm in the rooms. And the showers were good. Although my Mother in law struggled to get in and out of the over bath shower. Real fast was lovely and the restaurant food was too. Not over priced ....The only down side was there is not a lot to do in the town and there were no restaurants open, maybe out of season perhaps mid October.

Perfect boutique hotel with 5 star service
Posted Oct. 15, 2018 on HotelsI chose this hotel because it was close enough day trips to San Sebastian, Saint-Jean-de-Luz, & Saint Jean-Pied-de-Port, & the price was reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this 3 star, historic hotel. The staff were so helpful & service was lovely; the common sitting room for guests and breakfast room was comfortable & elegant, with a cocktail hour. The continental breakfast was absolutely fantastic - many high-quality items from which to choose.
The room itself was as expected from an older building - smaller but comfortable, & my room had a view to the church. The bathroom was modern & had everything I required, including a hairdryer. My only wish was that the towels were just a little better, or perhaps laundered differently (they felt a little scratchy, but I'm being picky).
Everything you could want for a short stay is within walking distance, & the town itself is very charming. I loved my stay so much that I would return again JUST to stay at this hotel & explore this tiny town and area again. This hotel did not feel like 3 star hotel at all, & I was incredibly happy with the experience.
Important to note - the church is situated directly behind the hotel, and the church bell rings regularly. If you are a light sleeper, you will definitely need to keep your window closed. There is plenty of parking on site, which is great. You will need to enter from the parking area, as the "front" of the hotel isn't necessarily the best to enter.
