Paradise at Glacier Hill Lakes near Wapakoneta
Relax with the family at this peaceful place to stay overlooking the lake. Enjoy a swim in the pool or the kids will love the splash pad. Play some shuffleboard, pickleball, ping pong or cornhole. We have so many amenities to choose from you will have a hard time deciding which one to choose! Fishing or just taking a walk along the lake. Pet friendly and family friendly
Really nice cabin. Right on the lake. Very quiet. A lot of ducks which was cool. Cabin was clean. More than enough room for me. I will be staying again next time I go out there.
The description of the property is misleading. The building is actually a mobile trailer or a "tiny house" as some call it. One of the beds (a couch really) is located in a loft where you cannot stand up (you must crawl to the bed. The stairs are very narrow. The double bed in the bedroom had a sheet on it that was too small so it kept coming off and we slept on the plastic protective cover that night. We did not stay but one day because the sulfur odor coming from the faucet smelled like rotten eggs and filled the entire trailer. We were thankful to get a refund for the remaining days. The worst of all, I believe left my study bible there and I have repeatedly tried reaching them to see if they have it. However, no return emails or calls. I am very sad to loose that bible and would like help getting ahold of them. The positives were the staff present at the time were pleasant and the trailer was clean an new.
Second time to stay. Great property for weekend getaway with kids. Allows dogs. Neighbors friendly. Safe, quiet at night. Pool, splash pad, playground are nice. Mini golf course in bad shape and no longer usable. Hopefully this will be updated and made usable for future. WiFi did not work for us unless sitting at the pool. Not a big deal but for those who rely on connection could be a let down. Easy check in and check out. Recommend Maxâs Dairy for ice cream a short drive away. Issue during our stay was the water from tap not usable and had a strong, horrible sulfur smell and a slimy feel of you did wash hands from tap water. Had to boil water. We did get jugs of distilled water at local Dollar Tree to use for washing/brushing teeth entire weekend. Could not shower for weekend there. Not owners fault but was a bit of a bummer. Will stay here again if available. Property is listed for sale.
The staff were great, accommodating us to get in early. The cabin was clean and amenities nice. Not sure but I think Wi-Fi was extra. Two problems we had would cause us to not go back: the water was from a well and had a high sulfur smell (rotten eggs). They should put filters in to eliminate this. Second problem was geese and ducks were around and pooping on grounds and road. They put feed out for them so the birds didnât want to leave. Again, the park staff was great.
On the positive side, it was cozy and the area is very pretty. The bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately there is no internet in the area due to a tornado a few months ago, therefore no Roku, so no tv. They should probably mention that the water is sulphur water. Also, the shower is very small with a low ceiling. Very pretty wooded location though and probably priced accordingly!
