Stunning position and surroundings. Lived up to the photographs. Extremely well equipped and comfortable throughout with excellent service from the owner/manager. Probably the best we have ever stopped in.

Tolle Location - etwas mehr Objektpflege wäre nötig

Die Lage ist absolut großartig und wir hatten eine gute Zeit! Das Haus an sich bräuchte aber dringend eine Grundsanierung, vor allem im Bad. Der Außenbereich ist verwahrlost. Der CheckIn war schwierig, weil wir nichts so vorgefunden haben, wie von der Infomail beschrieben. Ein Schloss mit unbekanntem Code, kein Schlüssel im Keysafe und ne falsche Nummer für das Haustürschloss. Erst nach ner Stunde kamen wir in das Haus….

Hello Anke I am sorry that we did not make the Cottage as perfect for you as we would like. The mistke with the locks was was entirely our fault. We always send out a direct email rather than relying on the ones from the travel agents, but we had missed updating the email from VRBO, and this must have been the one you read. Once again, I am sorry about this. Our commitment to supporting the orchids, wild-flowers, birds and other wildlife on the headland means that we cut the grass once a year at the end of June. Unfortunately, our gardener had to delay this by a couple of weeks this year, and by chance the grass was cut back the Tuesday after you left. I am happy to say it looks a lot neater now. You may like to know that we schedule repairs and redecoration each winter to keep the rooms fresh and updated. The bathroom is our next redecoration project, but we don't think it's very green to replace a perfectly functional suite just because it's a bit old fashioned. The bedrooms will also be repainted this winter. Other than that, of course, it's a matter of personal taste. Our aim is that the cottage should be light and cosy, and guests can see the inside of the cottage from the photographs. Once again, I am very sorry you had a less than perfect stay with us, but I am glad that you were able to enjoy what Caithness has to offer visitors, and hope you had a safe journey home. Ben Makin
