Quick weekend getaway

The location and description of the property were very accurate and perfect for our purposes. Communication with the owner was prompt and efficient. Would definitely stay again.

We used it the first night exactly as in the instructions. When timer completed, there was still a flame. We called the man listed on the paperwork. He replied the next day that he had retired two years ago and was no longer answering calls for Iron Horse.

Great location for a ski-in/ski-out vacation

The location of this condo was great. Quick access to the ski locker and the "Corridor" trail with access to the Winter Park Base. There is a fairly flat section of this cat-track, so be prepared to pole/skate a bit. Coming "home" in the afternoon for lunch was quick & easy and a great way to save money vs. on-mountain food, however, you must ski the blue square Mary Jane run, which may be difficult for beginners. The description & noted warnings of the condo were accurate. It is a warm unit and we had windows open, even with single-digit temps. The tile floors felt heated, which was great for cold toes and wet ski boots. Each morning, our boots were dry and warm. The snow plows started 5:30AM, although they quickly moved on to other areas. One of the most important aspects of a good condo for us is the bedding. The master bed and the Murphy bed were both extremely comfortable and plenty of linens, blankets, and pillows were provided. My family of four all got great sleep on the beds. We did not test out the sofa bed. Ned was very communicative and easy to reach pre-arrival and during our stay and was a great host. We experienced an issue with the shower which was quickly addressed. Our only other concern was the overall cleanliness upon arrival. Perhaps because it was New Year's Eve, the cleaning crew wasn't as detailed as they should have been. Ned had a crew out the next day to address our concerns. Overall this is a great condo in a great location with great hosts!

Beautiful Property but terrible unit or Condo

The property itself was very nice but the condo I stayed in was ground floor and had windows looking out to construction which was very loud every day and everyone could walk by and see in my condo unless I kept the blinds and windows completely shut. It was very warm in the condo which the owner had said, but you had to have the windows open And prop the front door open to get some kind of draft through the condo! Workers were right outside my window, working on the patio and people using patio outside my windows! ! Ifelt very unsafe and I am a single female staying there. The condo had a new TV but when I called the owner to get some direction on how do use all three controllers, all he said, is it self-explanatory. When I was trying to check in, I could not get on the Wi-Fi so I could not check my phone for the numbers to get in the property. It took me two hours back-and-forth with the owner just to get him to finally give me the codes again when ever I did ask him a question he never really answered. Just beat around the bush. Needless to say I was exhausted by the time I got in the unit , once again, the property itself is beautiful and after self exploring, I found everything in the building and was able to hike into the village from the property. I would recommend the property, but would never recommend this particular unit for anyone you had to move furniture to put the Murphy bed down and hit your shins moving around. Unit dirty & not Covid cleaned. I had to clean!

Hi Judy, I'm sorry you didn't have a better stay. After I answered your initial inquiry and questions, you booked a new reservation, separate from your inquiry, but continued to ask questions in the inquiry thread. I sent you all the necessary information, including entry codes, one month before your arrival, and asked you to please make sure you understand it and urged you to communicate in the reservation, not in the inquiry thread. Then you wrote twice in the inquiry thread asking for the address, which concerned me. Each time I urged you to look in your reservation and check your email. Because you never responded, I called you a few days before your arrival to ask if you had received and understood the information. You again asked for the address. I asked you to please go into your VRBO reservation or check your email and find the information, as you would need more than the address to get in and to use the condo. VRBO sent the entry information to you again three days before your arrival. I then sent the full guest letter and information (twice) the day of your arrival. Not once did you either confirm you had received it or call me to say you still didn't understand. Then you arrived and wrote to say you couldn't get in. The worse for me as an owner than having a guest arrive and not being able to get in, which is why I spent so much time trying to make sure you had and understood the information before your arrival. I won't go into depth on the other issues, as they follow the same pattern of communication problems. I agree with you that the unit is hot, which is why I mention it in the ad and sent you a separate note about it with tips. Summer time is full of construction, which is unfortunate but necessary for an old building. (It's a short summer season between snow and ice up there.) As owners, we don't receive information about which projects will occur or when. The Murphy bed does not require moving furniture. I spoke to the housekeeper as soon as you told me you it wasn't clean enough, which was a few days after your arrival. At that point, we couldn't assess the situation directly, but I asked the houseekper to please make sure she takes her time to attend to all details. I don't know what else to say except that I replied to every question and did all I could to make sure you had all the information you needed. I hope you have a smootehr path in the future. Ned

Comfortable updated property

Unit has been completely updated/renovated and in a great location in Iron Horse. Had all of the amenities for making meals or just enjoying time in front of the fireplace! Would definitely recommend and we will put this at the top of our list for returning to Winter Park.
