This was genuinely one of the most disgusting hotel experiences Iâve ever had.
From the moment I walked into the room, the hygiene was shocking. There were small menâs hairs all over the sink and on the towels. There was no hand wash liquid provided, and the bed looked like it hadnât even been changed after the previous guest. It honestly felt dirty and completely unacceptable.
The ironing board had a hole in it, and every time the people next door used their bathroom, the sound of running water was loud and intrusive in my room. It made it impossible to relax.
I went down to reception to report the matter. To be fair, the receptionist was polite and seemed to want to help, but she clearly didnât have the authority or means to do anything. She told me the hotel was fully booked and that the person who handles these matters wouldnât be in until the next morning. So I was left with no solution.
At that point, I decided I couldnât stay there any longer. As I was leaving to find another hotel, the restaurant manager made a dismissive comment: âSorry it wasnât up to your standards.â That really frustrated me. This isnât about âstandardsâ â itâs about basic hygiene, which this hotel completely failed to provide.
On top of all that, the room had just been freshly painted, and the smell was so strong it was unbearable. Even with the window open, I couldnât stay in the room for more than 5â10 minutes.
