We loved the history of the Inn. The room was clean, comfortable beds, new bathroom fixtures that fit the decor. It was great to be right on site so we saw old faithful erupt 5 times.
Didn't notice I order a room without private bathroom, the price was expensive enough. It's not near to other viewpoints compare to West Yellowstone anyway, why don't we just choose to stay in West Yellowstone? Not to mention there was a smell in the room, the water was either freezing or very hot in public bathroom, no wifi and bad soundproof!!!
The old part of this lodge, especially the lobby, is indescribably unique; you must see it to believe it! Our room, on the ground floor, is small, but perfectly comfortable with high quality sheets and a huge sash window through which we watched a wild bison grazing! Staff are exceptionally informative and friendly.
Very good but the following are what we did not like;
1. Only buffet was available at the main dining room; wanted to have more food choices especially at dinner
2. The room was a little noisy even though this was a result of the fact that the building is made of wood, which is one of the appealing points of the property
3. There was no wifi; needed to go to the other hotel to get wifi
Overall, we liked the stay very much, though.
Checkin time was 4pm. We had to wait over 2 hours for a room. No yfi. Ice was so far away it would have melted by the time it took to get it. Shower was dangerous. It kept switching from scalding hot to ice cold. No control over it. Standing water in the floor of the changing section. I would not recommend this hotel.
Perfect place to stay in the park . Food choices are very limited before May 16th . We arrived on May 4th and had to drive back to West Yellowstone for lunch . Only 2 places open for dinner at the hotel or next to the hotel and it was very limited menu. They did have a buffet dinner but we were not hungry enough to spend 50.00 a person . We did have breakfast buffet the next morning and that was very decent. I believe after May 26th, the other restaurants and the main dining room will have a better selection . I highly recommend staying here as the hotel has a lot of history and it is very cozy . Staff is wonderful . Make sure you get a room with a private bath it is well worth it . Live music was played each night in the mail lobby on the second floor . Very relaxing !
The inn had opened the day we checked in which I think went into the reason for our issues. Our room had a leaky sink that was unfixable and we were forced out of our room for 4 hours while maintenance tried to resolve it. The shared showers were also broken where the water was scalding hot or freezing. The front desk manager Stacy was so amazing she ended up moving us to another room that was very comfortable.
