Room clean, staff very friendly and engaging. Some TLC required to the mould in the shower and the overhead bed light didn’t work, this left just the room light as the only means of lighting and reading by that was a bit limited as the wattage of the bulb wasn’t great. Staff definitely the biggest positive.

Breakfast was fresh and generous, staff were friendly and helpful with directions and tips. 8 minute walk from the train station, 15 minutes to the Minster and Shambles. No lift and narrow stairs could be problematic for mobility challenged, but we had no difficulties managing. We would definitely stay there again!

Perfect location near mass transit center for coming in and out of the city of York, not too close, but walkable for sure. Then getting into the city itself for sightseeing was also walkable, so convenience was a big plus. The complete breakfast was simple to order from a small menu of choices. The kitchen/ inn attendent was sure to meet our needs and answer questions. all with a caring smile. The bedroom was adequate and comfortable for two people. I'd choose this house again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Saint Mary’s guest house. It is only a 10 minute walk from the train station and is close to the city center too! Staff was friendly. Breakfast was good. Highly recommend this B&B.
