Great location for our visit to York. So convenient for travel with the train nearby and a short walk into the historic area. Morning breakfast was average fair served by attentive, kind staff. It was a great way to start the day. Staff was consistently polite and welcoming each and every time we left and arrived (we stayed for six days). Our room was unfortunately right above the carriage entrance of this older property, so noise was an issue from late night revelers but also other guests who passed by at all hours talking and laughing loudly. That may have just been for our room, but it was an issue.

Only a few minutes walk from York Minster and the town centre but on a busy road with significant traffic noise. I was given a room in the basement with windows painted over and next to no natural light.However room was large and reasonably well appointed. Staff friendly and welcoming, good choice for breakfast.

Please change the pillows! The only negative for the stay. Flat as a tack. BUT the room and the accommodation and the staff are excellent. Breakfast a bargain at under £10.

We have to say a big thank you, as we found the Minster Hotel spot on! It is a great, well appointed, family run hotel, with lovely, attentive staff. The room was super, clean and spacious and it offered us a great sleep. It being very quiet, and the bed nice and comfy. Breakfast is excellent too, with lots of choice, perfectly cooked, hot and wonderfully tasty.. all served by a great staff team, who are literally a well oiled machine. The Minster seems to have ample, private parking and is ideally placed for York city centre. Bootham is a very short walk to the Minster, Shambles, museums etc.. Go on, treat yourself!
