I would like to share our experience about this resort by expressing how we liked our stay for 10 days! Overall, ocean maya royale is a nice resort with a beautifuly maintained graden. There are two critical issues with this place, one is the food and the quality of food that is very low! I mean we got sick few nights into our stay, and the second part was the rough unfriendly ocean with smelly seaweed. We ended up either taking a two miles walk over to a cleaner and a better beach, or going to the town. It was extremely frustrating to have to stress over the beach and the food where it should have been a place for pleasant experiences. We ended up spending 4 days out of the resort to eat fresh good food and enjoy a nice beach.( we got food poisoning from the Japanese restaurant and we were sick for two whole days, missing out) We taxied to playa del Carmen town where we spent extra for everything that we had already paid for. We travel a lot especially to all inclusive resorts. We smelled a sense of cheating the guests with their food in many ares. I don’t recommend going there if you care about quality of your stay and your meals.The room was very clean. Personals were polite and the resort is peaceful. We did communicate that with the manager! See you later.

We got assigned a beautiful ocean front suite. It was very much appreciated because our entire trip depends on the location of our suite. If is is truly not an ocean front, we are not happy to say the list. OMR is beautiful property. Great staff, good food and great couple of nights of entertainment.

I love this resort as it is small and easy to get around from beach, pool, room, lobby and restaurants within 5 minutes. The staff is amazing!! Miguel is by far the best bartender whether he is in the pool bar or lobby bar. The entertainment staff made our stay even more fun. Kenddell, Adela, Arturito and Alexander always made a point to talk to our group every day. Kenddell even remembered all our names (group of 10) after meeting us the first time. By the end of our stay he had made all 6 girls personalized bracelets and a small note to thank us for making his job fun. He doesn't realize that he made our vacation so much more fun by making us feel welcome. Down side note was that they changed the lunch restaurant (El Charro) to a sit down meal. It used to be more of a buffet style with grab n go. Now you have to wait to be seated and waited on. Sometimes I just wanted to grab a plate of chips and guacamole or a plate of french fries without having to be waited on. I wish there was a spot for snacks like this near the beach or pool. This was my third time to visit here in 10 years and I would go back again!

The resort itself looks to be older but kept up pretty well. The restaurants were ok. I didn't have anything that was bad but ate nothing that I would say was above average. The only issue we ran into was with the lack of pool chairs available. Everyone would go down and save chairs and you would have people remove people's towels and belongings. There was no clear message or policy issued by the resort. I has seen more than a few conflicts over incidents over pool chairs.

Please stop cleaning outside the room at 8am. The broom slamming the stairs 100 times in the morning woke us all up everyday. Its very annoying

This resort has limited dining options. Hot tub is only available at the SPA and you must make reservations. Nightly entertainment is boring. Alcohol is horrible, the cheapest alcohol I ever had in my life. I believe I got alcohol poisoning on our first night. The stuff was friendly

Kendell and Francesco were absolutely wonderful, 10/10 staff. The food was mediocre, blue moon was not good at all. Rooms were very clean, resort was pretty.

Overall, it was a good property. The food is just okay. The privilege workers were very accommodating with pesos breaking. The staff was very nice for the most part, but some restaurant staff didn’t want to be there.
