The ocean wasn’t as clear as pictures, very rocky and lots of sea weed. Pools were nice and that’s where we spent most of the time. Staff was friendly, restaurants and drinks were good. Only downside was our room fridge wasn’t restocked except for soda. We had to call down for towels multiple times, didn’t have wash rags or hand towels almost the whole trip.

Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun was a nice property in a good location. Short beach, it was swimmable, a bit rocky, only small amounts of Sargassum. The room was large and clean, comfortable beds. The food was good in the restaurants. Breakfast buffet much better at the Mediterranean restaurant vs the Asian restaurant. Nice coffee shop. Biggest complaint is the lack of chairs/saving of chairs in beach and pool areas. By 7 am every chair in the pool areas was reserved with towels—mostly by people who didn’t show up until well after 11am. Heard many people say they set their alarms for 6, put out towels then went back to bed. Wish the resort would have (and enforce) a policy of not saving chairs—there would be plenty of room for everyone if people would just use their chairs during the time they were at the pool/beach. For this reason I wouldn’t return to this particular resort

They maintain the beach as best as they can. It is a really beautiful spot with calm waters that makes it enjoyable to swim in the water. It felt as though the rest of the resort was short staffed. Checking in took a while of standing in line (not something I was used to at an all inclusive). Many restaurants had 30 mins of wait time when arriving and then took a long time to get food and service. The spa was messy with stuff everywhere.

Food absolutely sucks , we walked out of a few of the restaurants after ordering and trying the food and went to the buffet which also didn’t have many options for lunch / dinner. Buffet was best for breakfast and the beach taco joint was mediocre at best. On the bright side atleast the drinks were good

Would've been a solid 5 stars but for 2 issues 1 - is that the hallways are large and echo, while the walls/doors seem to be thin. It wasn't too bad, but if someone closed their room door down the hall it would echo back and you'd hear it in your room; I swear I could hear our neighbor flush their toilet. 2 - the food. I've limited experience at all inclusive resorts, but I expected MUCH better food. Some of it was borderline inedible. I had chicken fajitas and could not finish my meal because it was so dry. The pool food was fine (avoid the hot dogs, they had a crumbly/mealy texture) and the mini pizza are pretty solid. The Mexican restaurant was bad, the Italian was passable except for overcooked pasta, and the Asian restaurant was the worst by far. Sushi came out warm, the miso had pasta noodles in it, and the satay sauce was literally just peanut butter. Also, most of the dishes do NOT match the menu description. Fruit platter was supposed to come with granola and cottage cheese and every time we ordered it they would give us 4 slices of cantaloupe and 4 slices of honeydew. The resort was great but unfortunately I don't think I'll go back unless they majorly change up the cuisine.
