CHARGES. Please read this review if you are booking a room for adults plus children. Travelocity's quoted price does NOT align with what the hotel will charge you! Upon check in, we were told that Travelociy's quoted price only included the cost for two adults, so the price nearly DOUBLED at the time of check in (from 2,728 to 4,910) There was no disclosure of this anywhere. We spent the first 3 hours of vacation wrangling with Travelocity and the hotel staff. We ended up paying for the hotel's price (so our kids could eat and sleep).
ROOMS. Hopefully they gave us the worst room in the place (Room 1113 BTW-demand a different one!) It overlooks the kids pool and the music from the club next door thumped until 11:30. Fortunately, they honored our request for a different room at no extra charge.
Room #2 was quite nice - ocean views, clean, great shower/bathroom area and some extra spaces that added a lot.
NOISE. It was loud the entire time! Always music playing.
POOL. So loud! You'll end up without a chair if you don't claim one early in the morning.
FOOD. V good, but reservations a pain.
CROWDED. This hotel tries to serve too many people at one time. They may be doing their best, but no hotel could keep up with the numbers.
BEACH. The beach area was our saving grace. It was beautiful and lots of shaded places to sit.
STAFF. Most were okay, some were rude, all seemed unhappy.
Catalonia needs to focus on their customers and less on the fancy decor/buildings.
Will not return.
