Not only was I not offered an upgrade, I was turned down when I asked about it. They wanted us to wear lime-green bracelets during our four day, stay. Uh no, I dont want to wear that as I'm walking all over the city. (This is not an all inclusive resort).
After the surliness of the check in staff, we made it to our room, what a disappointment! Small, the bed was a joke, no drawers or closet space to put clothes away. The facilities and furnishings were outdated. The FREE breakfast was horrible, they kept asking if we wanted to purchase anything. I didnt mind coffee, fruit, and bread. But they were rude about it and said you can only get one fruit, you better like papaya!!! Other tables were treated well for ordering from the menu.
The worst moment of our entire experience came when they knocked on our door to clean because the wind blew away the Do Not Disturb sign. We politely said no thank you. I told my husband to put the sign, but he said once housekeeping passes by no one else should knock.
We were celebrating our 21st anniversary, so we needed our privacy, within 30 minutes we had a male worker knocking on our door!!! He said he needed access to our room to check on our balcony door. I yelled out to him, "we are not dressed, but not to bother coming back, you can check the door AFTER we check out!!".
Never again! ¡Pésimo servicio!
