Really keen staff and good value accommodation.

I stayed one night. All interactions with staff were good, they seemed keen to try to do the best they could. I may have been lucky with my room but everything worked OK and it was in a quiet location which I really liked. The bar was fine, evening meal good and breakfast too. For what I paid I would say it was good value and very rare that I visit a hotel without a problem so thank you to the staff at the Dog House!

The restaurant and garden are nice and the service was good. Good selection on the menu, including vegetarian and vegan. The food was very good. Unfortunately the accommodation is extremely tired and is in desperate need of updating / painting. I have been generous with 3 stars as we ate in the restaurant both in the evening and morning. If you are looking for a place to eat which is dog friendly this is perfect.

Staff very helpful and friendly(apart from one) Food OK Bedroom very tired, old fashioned. Bed too low. Decoration poor. Bathroom old fashioned. Toilet seat very loose toilet roll holder very loose( reported told it would be fixed but wasn’t) Overall room is not worth what we paid. Bar/ restaurant good, parking good

Very friendly pub with rooms. Nice feel about the place, with a quality breakfast, ample parking, dog friendly, bar area as well as the restaurant, clean restaurant restrooms and good choice of draft beers etc. Hotel room beds comfortable with nice linen, comfy pillows and nice crockery. Unfortunately the hotel side of things appear ‘tired’ in many areas with our bedroom spacious but needing a good paint and furniture needing modern replacements. A lot of marked walls, carpets and furniture. No tea and milk in our room on arrival was quickly sorted by staff, but minimal cheap loo roll, unfilled soaps etc were disappointing. Old shower heads. Rooms need an armchair to sit in as only the bed was comfy. Windows had restricted opening so room hot and stuffy at night (fan available). Food in the restaurant (evening) average, roast dinners were dry. Bar staff shut up shop half an hour early with no last orders called which was a bit disappointing! We would stay again as reasonable charge for room, but with a bit of a make over the place could be amazing.

The Dog House

The room had a window, I am not sure why as it looked across to a wall. The shower just about worked, the control head did not work. There were no tongs for the continental breakfast, so hygine must have been poor.

the hotel staff were friendly and the rooms clean. No elevators if stairs are an issue. Very old decrepit inn. Road too busy to walk and nothing of interest in the area. You must need your own car if you stay at this inn. Lastly the food in the resteraunt was yucky.

Great place to stay on the outskirts of Oxford

Really great place to stay , perfect for getting into Oxford city , big rooms with everything you need , clean , lovely old pub with lots of charm , loads of parking , friendly staff , dog friendly

Attractive pub/restaurant/hotel in a very pleasant rural location close to Abingdon. Good bar. Friendly staff. Large, clean family room with comfortable beds and a good shower. Everything we needed for a 2 night stay.
