We have stayed at the Old Abbey Housr on a number of occasions. Rooms well appointed and clean. Very convenient location for centre od Abingdon which has plenty of eateries.
I always enjoy my stay here - the building is beautifully renovated with fantastic interiors but keeping the charm of the house too. Self check in, but always someone on the other end of the phone should you need it.
A beautiful building with stunning, high end converted rooms, right in the heart of Abingdon. Parking & check-in was easy. Iâd read other reviews so knew Old Abbey House is not really a hotel as there are no staff, but this was not a problem.
We stayed in a Deluxe Suite which was gorgeous, lovely bed, decor & furnishings and a fridge & cooker too. Top tip if you are staying more than 1 night I stand your own teabags, coffee & milk, as a very small supply is in the room.
Iâd highly recommend this place for a peaceful getaway in a great location.
Lovely large room good facilities oven hob pots pans. Good if you wanted to cook your own food comfortable bed only stayed one night but would definitely use again.
Beautifully decorated to such an high standard and in an incredible building. It is quite clear there are no staff on site when booking - they are always available over the phone and very helpful.
Ideally situated for exploring Abingdon and the lo
Second stay at the hotel and by coincidence it was the same room.. Much easier to check in this time, the check-in is fully automated so having gone through the process previously this time it wasnât an issue. The room is comfortable, not overly large but the bed is comfortable you have your own temperature thermostat and itâs clean, so all the major important boxes are ticked. Certainly, would not hesitate to use the hotel again.
After a stressful afternoon caused by some hotel booking foul ups we got a last minute booking here. Once in the room both of us felt an air of calm and relaxation. Both had a really good nightâs sleep.
As we didnât stay in a suite with a kitchen we ate at the Crown & Thistle less than 100 metres walk away.
Looking back on our stay there was an aura of monastical peace and tranquility. Next time we are in Abingdon this will be our place to stay.
Great property with clean, well laid out room. We loved staying in such an old historic building, with new rooms and amenities. Located in the old town area, it is walking distance to restaurants and cafeâs. The market on Mondayâs was an unexpected bonus.
