Wonderful Duplex with rooftop, air conditioning and free WiFi
Right in the heart of the old town, enjoy this spacious duplex with its rooftop offering a beautiful panoramical view of AIX Up to 4 people
This is a run down and neglected apartment building. Dirty with paint peeling and leaking A/C as well as leaking roof into the bedroom when it rains. The rooftop sitting area is tiny with a view of the sky, the 4 flights of stairs are in a tight spiral with tiles falling off the stairs and railings falling off the walls. If youâre taller than 180 cms, you wonât be able to stand in the shower. The bedroom ceiling is sloped and good for short people. Persistent loud buzzing sound in the kitchen, manager could do nothing about it. When in the kitchen, you can look into the bedroom through the glass floor. Thatâs weird! stayed 7 nights which was far too long for a dump like this. Fantastic old busy part of Aux EP.
We stayed here for three nights. We didnât mind climbing the steeps stairs as others noted. The location cannot be beat as it was right in town.
The place was not very welcoming which contracts the atmosphere of the town. For the 3 of us, the owners provided exactly one 1/2 bottle of soap (no shampoo or conditioner), 3 pillows, 3 towels, 3 coffee pods, 3 packs of sugar and 3 tea bags. Nothing else more. Even though there were extra blankets, pillows and towels in the closets, they were marked âDONâT TOUCH!â
The rooftop was nice but also not very comfortable as the cushions on the chairs as depicted by the pictures were not made available to us. The chairs were hard to sit on without the cushions. And to call it enough room for six people is quite a stretch. The one bed was hard and not very comfortable. The other âbedsâ were futons which had multiple stains.
Lastly, communications was difficult. I had to remind the owners that I was coming in and leaving and to provide instructions to unlock the lockbox. And, were told two different times to check out.
The furniture, decor and utensils were old and need replacing. The walls and ceilings were cracking and in many areas, falling apart.
Ok it's 60 steps up a winding staircase (pack lightly! Suitcases not so fun to haul up and down) but the beautiful, clean charming apartment is absolutely LOVELY! The roof top is charming with a great view! The kitchen is well appointed, really everything is. The tv, we were too un tech savvy to work but when in Aix you don't really want to waste your time watching television!
