It was a nice stay. But it's shows signs of wear & tear. Nice place, but over priced.
Took my kids here and they loved it , staff really friendly so was the pet dog. For the price you can’t complain, location is perfect for all the activities in the area , close enough to the city for a shopping trip
This hostel is an experience not to be missed and the area surrounding is stunning. Reception were helpful, rooms clean.

The bungalows were really nice with sturdy bunks and outlets by each bed. They also had a mini fridge in each bungalow, so that made it nice to have food close by. The pool looked dirty, so I did not use. The kitchen and lounge area is all outdoors, same with the bathroom area. They have individual covered stalls and a sink that is completely outside, so that got pretty dirty. My first night there they ran out of toilet paper in both toilet stalls and it wasn’t replaced until late morning the next day. Really long time to not have toilet paper. If you’re into the eco thing, this is probably great for you. I also was walking into spider webs frequently, that was the worst part for me.

Beautiful environment, friendly staff, great location as it is central to Nelson Bay and the beach at Anna bay. Bungalows are clean but rather outdated, needs a bit if love. Definitely need air conditioning in the rooms. Found ourselves at Big W buying another fan.
Great spot to stay. Kid so loved it even though it rained most days we were there. Will return and recommend.

Beautiful but expensive
Beautiful but expensive...arrived to find out we still owed them $155....so it cost $465 for two adults and two kids in what is basically a backpackers joint with shared bathroom and kitchen. Had to make the beds when we arrived and the linen was dusty. Sorry won't be going back here.
One of the best customer service I have experienced ever. When I arrived they welcome me by my name. They accompany me to the cottages(room) and they gave me a new set of bedding. The double decker bed is wooden and it is very comfortable, no noisy sound like those metallic beds in other guest house. The bed is amazing.
It is like a small compound in the forest with around maybe 10 cottages with modern design inside. There is another cottage that is a open kitchen having a nice grilll and all the things you need for cooking. Another separate cottage is the lounge or gaming area with billiard darts etc. swimming pool is nice in front of the reception. Bring your own food because they have less selection of emergency food like noodles and egg etc... I was surprise that those eggs and noddles are very cheap compare to seven eleven and other guest houses.
The place is 15 and or 30 minutes by bus from the salamander shopping mall and nelson Bay Area.
Close to everything you want for a beach getaway but feels like your a million miles away from the usual tourist trap.
Fantastic set up, perfect for that camping out experience with the luxury of a comfy bed and hot shower.
Perfect for quiet getaway. Best sleep for a long time. Definitely going back.
Great location with beautiful surroundings. However the rooms could use some tlc. Replacing the mattresses and fitting an Air Conditioner to the rooms would make the stay a lot more comfortable. Otherwise I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay any longer than 2 nights max.
