Absolutely top notch. Might be one of my favorite hotel experiences. The room is awesome. The view stunning! The food excellent! Walking distance to everything. The bed and linens are heaven and the sauna looking out to the river and cargo ships absolutely masterful! We ate dinner out on the patio next to the fire pit and had dessert in our room. The dessert was unbelievable. I can’t wait for breakfast to have room service again. And on top of all that check out isn’t. Until 12 o’clock! This is a must have experience.

The facility was very clean and modern. Staff was fantastic! The view of the river is intoxicating and the convenience to restaurants and shopping could not be any better. The biggest downside was the sea lions that have taken up residency underneath the hotel (it sits on a pier). If you are noise sensitive as we are, this might not be for you. The management has made every attempt to alleviate the noise by providing earplugs and white noise machines. Unfortunately, these water rodents like to position themselves directly under certain rooms and the noise comes up through the pipes in the bathroom. It truly is bad that theses critters has impacted such a nice hotel. They are not even resident sea lions, so you can't say that they were there first. This hotel is above standards even with the sea lions. My suggestion when reserving a room is to reserve one on the river side far from the nucleus of these critters. The staff can recommend which is better. Going back to the staff, hats off to Jim, the savior and all around great guy!

We used to live in the area so we were excited to play tourist. The Knot (the bar at Bowline) is always a good choice for a drink, we did not take advantage of that this time though. Place is clean, the aesthetic they went for is interesting. However with the concrete floors, it doesn't make for a very soundproof hotel. We're used to and expected the sea lions, but unfortunately the guest in the room next us was ill and we could hear everything. We're also pet owners and love that the hotel is dog friendly (did not bring our dog this time) but I think there needs to be some rules or enforcement of rules for barking.

The Bowline Hotel is in an amazing location right on the Columbia River. Our room was very comfortable and the view was great. There were sea lions roaming under the pilings the hotel is build on, and in the water next to the hotel. The Bowline is in very easy driving distance to the museums and restaurants in Astoria, but the whole Astoria boardwalk area was not very lively the weekdays we were there. Parking is on the street unless you use the hotel's valet service. Our breakfast, which was not part of our room charge, was very nice. We would stay here again.

Nice location and hotel stay.

Pleasant reception, nice view, easy walking to center town activities. Bathroom well organized. Seals were loud but hotel provided earplugs. Valet parking worked well.
