Avoid this place.

Pros: Some parts of the breakfast.
Cons: Gut the place and start again in a new location.
Location: The area is the worst thing about this hotel. Unsafe.
Not knowing anything about Athens, I booked this hotel based on the price and proximity to the metro and the ruins. On the way there, our taxi driver advised us not to go out at night because it was a bad area. Drug addicts and refugees lived in this area, and mostly came out during the evening. My brother had a lovely hotel in the business district, whose staff also confirmed the problem with the area of this hotel, and also said not to walk the street at night. Even during the day, it felt unsafe, especially as we watched an aggressive lunatic yelling at people while pulling trash out of a can and eating a bite of something he pulled out, then he yelled at cars as he walked in front of them to cross to our side of the street. This area is bad news. The hotel room was dark with dirty walls and filthy drapes, upholstery and bedspreads, although the sheets were clean and we received clean towels daily. The shower arm was broken and hanging, and the bathroom sink was clogged. If the maid even ran water for 3 seconds, she would see the water backing up in the sink and taking forever to drain. Breakfast staff was nice, but breakfast was just ok. Thankfully, they had eggs, but they were usually cold. Juice was more like watered down Tang powder. But the bread was fresh and they had delicious olives and tomatoes. Bottom line, I would never ever stay here again, and recommend anyone to choose another hotel.

YOU WILL NOT SLEEP, WIFI NEVER WORKED!!

Where do I begin, upon checkin,I had specific details that I wanted a quiet room, away from the street noise. I was given a front facing room. Immediately, went and spoke with the lady, who then gave me attitude, and appeared offended, she said "Fine, try this one". Was definitely a downgrade, but seemed fine, until a group of 27 year olds, checked in and were all put on my floor. Again, I asked for some help since they were slamming doors, screaming through the halls, felt like a dorm at college. At this point I knew it was going to be a rough night. I asked again, a new lady was at the desk and she said she had nothing else available. I said, so if I leave, I'll still get charged, she said yes. So, at this point, I decided to wait till the next morning and speak to the manager. The original lady was back, and refused to let me speak to the the manager and would not refund the money. You will get no sleep at this hotel, I suggest you find another place unless you want to be treated like crap and deal with employees who could care less about the noise all night and doors slamming. FIND ANOTHER PLACE!!! You couldn't pay me to stay there again.

Nice hotel and staff not the best neighborhood

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet
Cons: Noisy
Neighborhood was a little run down - convenient to public transportation. Staff is friendly and helpful. Hotel is clean.

If you're on a budget this is your hotel.

Pros: Free Internet, Free breakfast
Cons: the area
Hotel was okay if you're on a budget it's clean, quiet, breakfast is decent. As in for the Area the view was pretty depressing.Full of graffitti, trash everywhere, very crowded and not the nicest locals very rude and not willing to help.If you decide to go to Athens stay for a day or two by the tourist areas in the Acropolis, then hop on the Red Metro to Pireaus port and get a ferry to the islands I stayed in Syros for two nights and santorini for another two nights. Thank goodness I decided to do the islands otherwise i wouldn't have good things to say about my stay in Greece.

Good Value Hotel in Athens

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, friendly staff, near metro
The hotel is very near the metro (about 2 blocks), the staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a lift from the ground floor so getting up to the room with luggage was easy. The breakfast was decent. Also it was nice to go to the bar in the hotel after a long day in the city, I would recommend this hotel. The hotel is on a busy street, and the room is not well insulated for sound, but I was able to sleep with no problem. They have a computer in lobby for free internet, plus the hotel has wireless, although the wireless signal in my room was very weak. The only really odd thing about the hotel is that you need to be in your room to have power (using your key). So while you're out during the day you may not be able to charge laptop, etc, also the heater/ac unit goes off when you leave the room.

Clean and friendly.

Pros: Free breakfast, Free Internet
Cons: Noisy
A big plus for this hotel was the closeness to the Metro. the location on a busy street (traffic sounds all night long) made it difficult to enjoy fresh air. The bathroom was tiny, but the room itself was adequate. The view lacked but we spent most of our time outside of the room. This is a good value if you primarily just want a clean place to sleep. Make sure you keep both balcony doors closed to minimize the street noise.

Great location!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, close to metro
We stayed at the Apollo Hotel for three nights and it was great - mostly because of the outstanding location and inexpensive price. It's very close to the entrance to the metro (just around the corner - less than a block) and just three stops along the same line from any of the tourist attractions. Breakfast in the morning was very good, with Greek yogurt and coffee the highlights, though there weren't too many options. The room was average overall, but the lounge downstairs had international reading material and a pretty high-tech massage chair, which was interesting. It was a little hard to find for our cab driver, so be sure to have the address. Also, the hotel was in a pretty good neighborhood, but it is pretty close on one side to a not so nice area. We spent most of our time away from the hotel exploring the city, anyway. It would have been very easy to take the metro from the airport to the hotel (something I wish we did - much cheaper). Look into it before you go!

Very helpful staff, excellent location

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, great staff
Excellent price and overall value. Located near hub for all transport modes, and walking distance to good eating places. Roof patio provides excellent view of Acropolis. A good base to see and travel around Athens.

GREAT STAY

The hotel staff was great. Spoke English fluently and was able to answer questions. The hotel was a little hard to find at first but it is very close to the Metro system. The breakfast was good. The beds were hard but for the value of the stay it was okay. The bathroom was small. The view from the top of the hotel was breathtaking. The staff was helpful with tour companies to sightsee. Definitely worth the stay if you are on a budget and want a good hotel.
