The first hotel I stayed in in Athens, was the Ilisia. When I returned from Hydra, U wanted to try another neighborhood, one not so fancy. This hotel is about 7 blocks from the subway. There are homeless in the area but they do not bother anyone. The hotel is in a quiet street near convenience stores and a great Georgian bakery. Breakfast was not included in my rate, but it seems to be included if I would have booked directly. It was modest. The next two mornings I explored the breakfast options in the area. The room was clean and well appointed. I will stay there again

Victory Inn hotel was a pretty unbeatable place to stay for the price. I was there for 7 nights. Staff was friendly and accommodating. All Athens attractions were no more than 3miles away by foot. This suited me fine since I love to walk. My only complaint was the room was a bit stuffy. If I kept window open mosquitoes came in. When I asked why the Air conditioner didn't work they said they turned it off for season. I didn't leave because of price. When my stay was extended for 2 nights and they wanted to charge me more, then I left for another hotel with AC that worked.
