Gouging you because they can.

Pros: The staff can tell you where to find a good meal. The bed and bathroom were fine.
Cons: A network engineer would probably help fix the WiFi. Carpeting the floors would reduce noise, as would quiet hours.
Location: It's a resort town in the middle of the Canadian Rockies. Accommodations can be hard to come by in peak season. Look at other options.
Paid $291 CAD for a room with horrible internet connectivity, cold stone floors, paper thin walls and a hotel staff that varied from friendly to unresponsive to flat-out uncaring. The only reason the hotel can charge this preposterous fee is because they can, not because the accommodations provide that level of value. Sound travels in this place. Lots of kids running up and down the main hallway until midnight, making noise (staff stopped answering the phone about the noise). WiFi is atrocious and complaints about it get met with a shrug by the staff. Walls are so thin you can hear normal conversations through the walls. No carpet on the floors, so the stone floors are not only cold in the morning, but the magnify the sound issues.

Loud, thin walls, bathroom was not clean

When we got there within two hours we had to be moved to a different room because our neighbors were very rude, you could hear everything. It felt like there was no privacy because you could hear everyone's conversations. When we got moved we walked in and the bathroom had not been cleaned. There was a hairball in the tub and looked like mold growing on the edge of the entire tub. When we got to bed I looked at the bedding and noticed they were stained yellow along the edges of the blanket. Gross.

Pros: The room was clean and comfortable.
Cons: The train was too close and noisy at night.
The hotel was good and comfortable and not far away from the park. The only problem was too close to the railway and the train was noisy.
