Great location, clean place, terrible communication with property management

We got there early and wanted to see if we could check in early. Email and VRBO chat was useless. Had to call and they gave us the run around to just tell us in the end that they were waiting for the cleaning company to say they were done cleaning. We waited outside for almost 5 hours and never saw a cleaning crew go in or out. No hot water. Again, VRBO chat and email were useless. Never got a response. The entry system isn’t great. You have to have your phone, download an app, and have wi-fi or internet to unlock the door from the street and the apartment door. And, each guest has to have the app on their phone and get a separate code to use the app to unlock the doors. That required a separate phone call as again multiple emails and VRBO chat messages were useless. Never got a response from those. The phone call took about 5 min start to finish. Everything was as described. The apartment was clean and the location was great. Pizza place and coffee/bakery just below were convenient and both very good. We got pizza almost every day.

Property not clean, appliances not working, a disaster!

The property was not really clean, bathrooms were dirty with hairs, mold, as well the kitchen drawers. The dishwasher was smelly. We have to run it twice to take the smell away. The rugs are dirty and very old to the point that is disgusting to step on them. The first day the AC were not working as well the washing machine, we informed immediately the owners and told us they can not do anything until the next day, imagine arriving after a long flight tired to sleep in summer in a hot apartment the whole day. All the filters of the AC's were dirty and make terrible noises. There is no dryer in the unit. Walls are dirty. The elevator is not working so you have to take all your suitcases through the stairs in a very ugly old building. You cant open the window and the noise of the streets and lights wont let you sleep. In overall a horrible place and experience.

Nice house just needs to be a little cleaner

The size of this is really good. Perfect for big groups. The area is good, better if it were a little closer to Gothic area but it was fine. The only thing that kept me from putting 5 stars is that it needed to be cleaned a little better. We checked in as the cleaning lady was leaving so it had just gotten cleaned. A couple toilets had dust and hairs on them and the showers had black mold or stuff in them. Other than that is was a nice house.

Very adequate

We were 8 adults for 3 nights and having private bathrooms was a real plus. Very nice-looking apartment, but not for anyone who is physically impaired as there's a step here and there throughout the apt. to manuveur, and the elevator is tiny. The front bedroom which faces the corner allows noises from the street all night and makes sleeping difficult. Suggestions to owner: Leave clear instructions for operating the washer. Also the person who welcomes the renters should be able to provide them with helpful information about the neighborhood and public transportation. The man who let us in didn't know much, especially about the washer. He also said the machine was a dryer, but we couldn't figure it out. The new occupants should be informed that the coffee maker is for certain pods. For a short period of time we made out OK except for trying to use the washer.
