Receptionist was quite rude and as a 4-start hotel we were slightly confused that we were told to do our check-in online ourselves making this interaction unpleasant and when we came to collet our clothes with the ticket, they originally gave to us, they couldn't find our stuff! Luckily, we were able to point out which luggage was ours, but we felt that it was quite unsafe that they didn't have a system put in place to guarantee that our stuff wasn't just going to be given to someone random. Additionally, they offered us a welcome drink but never actually gave us anything, we realised that we were one of the younger guests at this hotel (aged 20) and therefore maybe the treatment was slightly different, but we were not disturbing or being rude to anyone do deserve this treatment. Our room we were slightly surprised at the conditions and the open plan layout. The pictures and descriptions online are misleading as the bathroom and room were connected with the toilet facing the shower. The decoration of the hotel is old and outdated, with ventilation whatsoever no window or balcony to open, or even a toilet fan. However, the housekeeping staff were absolutely amazing. They cleaned our room every day even if we requested it to be done later, exchanging our towels and organising some of our stuff. Huge thanks to them. I must say that the location was perfect, very easy to get to the Gothic tower and the beach only around an hour away from Sargade Familia by metro.

The hotel was excellent, along with the staff. Once you get out of the immediate area, it was fantastic, close to everything! Just stay away from walking thru the back alleys at and use main roads, it will be fine.

The receptionist Ruben was a bit of a strange guy there was someone behind us in the que he served them first at check in the other staff were all great the hotel is clean tidy with great views at the 11th floor the area is a bit sketchy be vigilant as it’s full of thugs, thieves and has a drug problem right outside the door but the hotel is fairly decent I’d stay again if I went again

Be on your guard outside the hotel

A really nice hotel with fantastic staff with one major negative: the location. I did see a few comments about the area before booking but I travel to Barcelona fairly often so i am aware of the issue with petty crime so it didn;t bother me. But the Rambla de Raval is now a dirty and seedy place to be at night. Groups of young men loitering all day and night. One of them tried to steal the necklace off a girl's neck while she was stood next to me. I'm a 6'3 and stocky male. he didn't care. Next time i visit the city i will stay well away from the lower Ramblas which are generally where the pickpockets and shady characters assemble
