Britannia Hotel Birmingham New Street Station offers its guests an elevator. WiFi is free in public spaces. A complete renovation of Britannia Hotel Birmingham New Street Station was completed in October 2024.
Great location in the town centre. Close to rail station. Complicated access for Taxis as there are barricades at both ends of the street.
Hotel undergoing rennovation so rooms experienced a lot of noise during the day.
Windows were single glazed, very dated and allowed all external noise in, even from the 6th floor where I was based.
Wr stayed here last night. Room was clean. Beds were comfortable.
No communication from the check in clerk. Didn't tell us our room number or floor. The one lift was out of service. And the working lift took forever arrive. During check out time we waited about 20 minutes for the lift but still ended up walking down 5 floors because the lift was rammed. The hotel could do with a face lift as it looks run down. No signage on any floors to indicate where rooms were.
Awful place, first room was a box with no window. Screaming and banging on doors all night. Loud music on all night. Did not feel safe at all.
Went to make a drink and found the kettle did not even work . As you guess will stop here again.
The hotel is right in the centre and very close to New Street station. Check in was simple and the staff were polite & friendly. Lift was extremely slow but I was only on 2nd floor so took the stairs. On opening the door to my room the smell of smoke hit me, it was as if there had been a fire close by and the room was smoke damaged. I immediately noticed that there was no window so the room became very stuffy at night. Aside from these two issues the room was clean and comfortable. This was a last minute booking and seemed to be the only hotel available unless I wanted to spend ÂŁ500 for 2 nights. My stay cost just short of ÂŁ300 room only for 2 nights. I am unlikely to stay again.
Very nice and comfortable room. Shower takes a bit of time to heat up but nevertheless was very clean, as was the rest of the bathroom. Would definitely stay again! Best location, right in the centre of the town. Only bad thing was that only 1 lift was working, sometimes had to wait a while, but then again you get your steps in for the day taking the stairs!
Booked last minute for two nights for a conference.
Room was damp (carpets sodden). Shower water was freezing, no window in the room, no ventilation.
Extremely noisy hotel with TV & music easily heard from other rooms.
Entering the hotel after 9pm is quite frankly dangerous. Drug dealers in the passage by the entrance offering their products alongside rough sleepers.
Avoid, avoid, avoid is my advice.
Shower was beautiful
Room clean and comfortable
Cheap furniture but adequate
Entering through a dingy alley not very pleasant
Didnât seem to be breakfast available or bar facilities
