This place was incredibly disgusting. The moment we opened the door, we were hit with a wave of stench that was nearly unbearable. There were gnats in the room, on the table; we had to eat outside.

The staff was so kind and helpful and it’s walkable to Rusty’s Saloon and other dining and shops. The major negative was how dirty and run down the room was. It was so uncomfortable unfortunately.

When checking in you had to go to a different location. The office was messy and felt uncomfortable checking in with its condition. The room we had was a suite. The room was 'off site' from the actual motel and was a small apartment building. We had a bottom floor room. I've never been in a room with such poor insulation between the floors. We could hear every step in the room above. It was awful! The beds were like sleeping on plywood and they were very short. My entire family had a poor night's sleep. The baseboards in the bathroom were caked with filth. There were two forks amd three spoons in the kitchen for a room that slept 8. I would not stay here again.

I mistakenly booked this place. And before I even got out of the car I knew it was a dump. Rolled up carpeting by the office door. Place was under renovations. Expedia was still promoting it though.

The location was nice and convenient. Neighboring guests were noisy as well as from the trailer park across the street. The lock for the bathroom window was broken making unsafe since the size of the opening would allow anyone to break in and fit through it. The remote for tv did not work.

The area isn't fancy or pretty but it's fairly quiet and an easy walk to much of downtown Bishop. The room was very basic and a little outdated except the bathroom which had been updated recently. Room was clean. It did include a tiny kitchen and a full size fridge, which was nice.

We booked a stay at El Rancho to break up a drive. Having camped for days we were excited to have a hot shower, safe place to stay and comfy bed. Unfortunately our stay at El Rancho left much to be desired. The motel made us check in at another motel - this really needs to be made clear in the initial booking - we were told to leave the site and come back again at check in and at check in the key wasn't there for the room (someone handed it to us from a car?) their were no staff onsite, the area felt very unsafe, and two female staff I interacted with were very rude. The motel is listed as pet friendly yet fails to allow payment for a pet online. Had this been approached better I would not have had an issue paying the additional amount but instead felt attacked but the above mentioned staff in the car. All of this would have been acceptable had the room not at the following issues - hygiene. There was no soap, the shower is covered in black mold, the sink was blocked with food from a previous guest, food spilled in the fridge and microwave, bugs in the bathroom and the floor was dirty when the towels were lifted off them. Overall the stay was not great. I would not recommend. Although the gentleman who checked me in at Tres Motel was lovely and super helpful - supporting when his colleagues were lacking. His service skills and kindness really shone. I believe he is also the handyman. Lovely man.
