Charlotte Glamping Dome- Fawn and Fern Hideaway

Come glamp with us just 25 minutes from downtown Charlotte at Fawn and Fern Hideaway. Experience our climate controlled dome with a bathroom, deck and fire pit! We are located in South West Charlotte near Tega Cay. The space is a beautiful twenty three foot dome that is powered by our solar panels and supplied with water from our 375 foot deep well. While our home shares the land, this is our only dome site and you will quickly feel at peace and secluded when you arrive. Our lot is nearly 5 wooded acres. You will have your own access road and private parking.

Enjoy your own kitchenette with sink, mini fridge/freezer, k-cup coffee machine and microwave. Your glamping experience has been upgraded to include a plumbed toilet, and climate control via electric fireplace and AC unit. (Dress for the weather as insulation is limited). The dome sleeps 4 guests with a queen bed and bunk beds. There is a private picnic table, charcoal grill and fire pit for your use with whimsical hanging lights and outdoor dining bistro. We plan to one day build an outdoor shower, but until then you may use our wash clothes, soap and sink provided to freshen up as needed.

There is a beautiful tree growing right through your private deck and a great bay window looking into the forest. We have planted lovely hostas and ferns surrounding the dome. Enjoy the community of deer that frequent the site. We have put out deer corn to attract and feed these graceful fawn visitors.

This was not the "Hideaway" advertised. The host's teenage son had a bday party complete with airguns and plenty of teens screaming and running around the property. It was loud and triggering and NOT AT ALL the peaceful experience that was advertised. The noise stopped at 10 pm - apparently the start of 'Quiet Hours.' The 'Quiet Hours' were not advertised on the listing, because I would not have stayed at a rental that could possibly be loud until 10pm. Also, it is stated in the rules 'No Parties.' I guess that only applies to guests and not to the host!This dome is beside the host's house. There is a privacy screen hung in the trees between the house and dome, but it is still close to their house. It was not secluded or peaceful (the exact wording in the listing).There is a dehumidifier btwn the bed and kitchen area. It sits on a pan of collected water that has been sitting there for a while. My dogs kept drinking out of it because there is no baby gate/barrier. Be warned - not sure what is in the water (mold?). My dogs were ok, but I didn't like that they had constant access to this pan of water under the unit. Also - the electric fireplace would not work.The host refused to provide us any type of compensation/refund for our poor experience.

First time glamping was a success!

My husband and I stayed for 1 night, had an amazing time. The portable AC worked perfect and was able to cool the entire dome despite the 90 degree heat! We enjoyed our time by the fire and eating our meals outside. The nature scenery was very serene with birds and deer passing by. The host is incredibly responsive to questions, excellent communication. We would definitely love to stay again

Quiet Getaway in the middle of Lake Wylie Everything

Great little getaway. Dog friendly. Solid one night location - simply because there is no shower. One suggestion - if arriving during the summer months plan ahead because the glamping tent will be HOT and the AC will need 2-3 hours to drop the temperature.
