"Small and cosy, with ingenious use of space. Very clean and very well equipped, we took stuff that we didn't need to take eg cafetière and hair dryer.Close to post office and COOP suoermarket. Good choice of eating places.Quiet ad peaceful, lovely village great walks and scenery.One note of caution, the stairs are very steep and a less mobile person might struggle, especially with luggage in hand.Overall a cracking stay, we'll be back."

"The room was very beautiful and clean. Staff was incredibly welcoming and kind, and helped us with our heavy luggage without hesitation. Within five minutes of our arrival, we were welcomed with fresh tea, and our room had complimentary cakes! They supply a fan in the room too, which is helpful for anyone that needs some airflow for comfort. We had breakfast in the morning and the food was delicious and fresh. The hotel is conveniently located about two minutes from the bus stop, and a seven-minute walk to a local pub with great food. We also walked to Chatsworth House and its surrounding grounds, which are next to the property. It overlooks a sheep farm too. This was truly a magical stay, I wish we stayed more time!"

"The rooms were small and the ones on the ground floor were noisy because of the proximity to the bar/restaurant. The food (breakfast and dinner) was fantastic though!"

"The location is fantastic for walking - especially straight of the front door into the Chatsworth House park. The cottage has everything you need for a full weeks stay. There was parking across the little bridge everyday (except the bank holiday weekend we arrived…) but we preferred to pay the 6.95 for 24hrs to park in the car park across the road. Perfect for exploring the Peak District. "

"I am so happy we stayed at the Pilsley Inn. It is located in a lovely little village just outside of Chatsworth House. I felt like I had stepped back in time. We only stayed one night as our itinerary was very full, but I would definitely recommend this Inn. the people were friendly, and it was a perfect stay for my English holiday!"
