For as much as I was charged for cleaning I expected the place to be pristine. Instead there was dust. Dirt. Dirty runner. Bugs. Larva. We actually had beetles come out of the top of the stove when we were baking dinner. I believe they should be very clear thereâs no view of the beautiful scenery from the living room. Iâm very disappointed.
If you are looking for a place away from the city where you can soak up an amazing atmosphere this is a great place. The place was amazing for the most part. If it weren't for the driveway that is not in great condition ot would be a 5 star place. The bathroom being downstairs was a little hard for having kiddos but definitely manageable. Having only one bathroom will make it a bit tougher for large groups but manageable as well. Overall the views and the weather were amazing!! The place is about 20 minutes outside of Woodland Park so depending on what you are looking to do keep that in mind.
This is a pretty amazing stay overall. It is a bit more on the remote side. The nearest grocery store is about 20 minutes away. Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs can be quite a long drive especially with high traffic. However, if youâre looking for a more remote location with lots of beautiful land to explore, this is an excellent property! though the property does sleep six, I would not recommend this large of a group as there is only one very small bathroom. The kitchen is also quite small and difficult to use. However, this is the only reason I rated this is a four star property. The owners were very responsive. We really had a blast! And despite some of the minor inconveniences, I would stay here again.
It was very nice and enjoyable. The house was perfect for my wife & I and our 5 year old daughter! There's a beautiful creek that runs through the property and the location is perfect to get out of town, but also be close enough to get their quickly if you need something. 5 stars!!
If you are wanting to get away, this place is it. Very large property, very private, no one to bother you. Approximately 20min away from anything. We are a family of four with a teen and preteen. Never ran out of things to do outside during the day, and plenty of internet to watch movies at night. The kids loved climbing the literal mountain on the property and searching for giant quartz rocks. Amazing view of Pikes Peak.
All the beds were comfortable and plenty of linens. The kitchen was well stocked and the outdoor grill was very nice.
As other reviews point out, the only bathroom is downstairs and the living room and bedrooms are upstairs. No big deal for us. They also point out there is no A/C. You don't need it. The house might get a little warm during a summer day, but at no point is it uncomfortable and as soon as the sun goes down you're going to be reaching for a sweater.
As warned by the property owners, the final 1/4mi of road up to the house is kind of rough. Any SUV will be able to make it, leave your sports car at home.
We would ABSOLUTELY rent this home again.
The stay started off a little rocky, but that was due to county permits. Julia, the owner, assured us and made us feel comfortable with the new process every step of the way. Upon arrival, the house was clean and exactly as the pictures showed. The only downside to this property....no air conditioning! At night and in the morning and mid morning it was great, but in the middle of the afternoon, in July!! It was so hot! 78-82 in the house. It would have been nice if the owner would have disclosed the fact there was no air conditioning in the house. We brought our own canopy to put on the deck . I highly recommend in the summer! But the creek was our relief. Nice and cool, clean water! I definitely recommend staying here. The views are amazing and you will not regret it! Our son is stationed at Fort Carson for a couple years and we will definitely stay here again!! Thank you Julia for all the hassle the county Karen caused! And I hope all is well your husband. Also, thank your son for his service to our country! God Bless!
The owner did not provide clear instructions in the house concerning checkout. I went by the instructions provided in the lease agreement, however the process for trash removal was wrong, cost me an extra 75$, also has oven was faulty and would set off carbon monoxide sensors
The property was beautiful and our host made sure we were taken care of. I highly recommend this home for all families. The wildlife and home are amazing.
This is a nice spot for a relaxing getaway. The house is very clean and comfortable and the view is amazing. It's quiet and peaceful, although a bit remote, and quite a bit farther from CO Springs/Manitou than the title of the listing suggests. We were told a 4-wheel drive vehicle would be helpful, but the driveway had not been plowed at all from recent snow, so even with a Ford F-150, we were unable to drive up to the house without help from a very friendly neighbor with a tractor and plow. After a rough beginning, the rest of our stay was truly very nice.
The property is exactly as described and the owner/property manager is extremely efficient at communicating.
Everything was clean, tidy and very neat upon arrival.
Very clear instructions regarding use of furnishings and fixtures as well as local attractions stores etc.
I would absolutely recommend this property to all my family and friends, and hoping to be back soon ourselves!
I liked the location, but it was not in Manitou Springs proper. The drive to it was relaxing and the actual property was peaceful.
Clean and well kept.
The one bathroom is on the first floor. The bedrooms are all upstairs. No problem for those without aging problems.
The hosts were very pleasant to work with.
Clean, comfortable, easy to manage cabin in the middle of Pike Natâl Forest. Everything we wanted.
If you are looking for a luxury resort with all of the artificial trappings, this isnât it. If you are looking for a clean, safe cabin with great views and plenty of room to let the kids or the kid inside of you run wild, this is it. Stream, rocks to climb, small mountains to climb, pikeâs peak and all attractions nearby, and about 20 minutes away from charming Woodland Park. Iâd recommend it to small families and adventure seekers who want the camping/exploration experience without having to lug along tents or worry about not being able to wash clothes.
We really enjoyed our time here. Nice cozy cabin with amazing views. Our family hiked the hill in the back for an even better view. There were mule deer in the yard every day and evening. The location was close enough to all the attractions we wanted to see and a very short drive to town for all the conveniences needed. However itâs far enough away that your really out in nature. Plenary of towels and dishes. We really didnât want to leave Colorado!
Bell Rock is an incredible place to regain or deepen your connection with nature. West & south are brush lined springs the are home to song birds, beavers, chipmunks, brown trout, small fly catchers. We watched the trout & fly catchers compete for the the same insects! In the surrounding fields humming birds drank the sap from the pines in mid day, chipmunks darted about, mule deer were spotted often, an osprey circled our mountain a few days a week, a pair of mountain bluebirds were always near singing & showing their colors. The home was comfortable in mid-June. Cozy, clean & well designed. Every window view was spectacular. Pikes Peak to the south in the sun, clouds, shade of sunset, was ever-present & awe inspiring!
