No record of fully paid reservation when we arrived, so had to wait for them to do a new reservation. Reserved handicapped accessible room, but was not given one. No shower chair or bench in any of the accessible rooms they have. No ice bucket in room. Numerous dead bugs on floor along walls. One night stay so we made it work, but disappointed in the accessible facilities available. Housekeeping needs improvement.

The hotel was easy to check into and the hot breakfast items were pretty good (hubby loved the biscuits & gravy). We came back to our room during the time housekeeping was making it up & asked for 5 min to change & let the front desk know we were on our way out. They never came back & our room was left with bedding on the floor & towels all over. We were moved to a smaller room. The next day we specifically asked for service & our towels were taken but we weren't given any new ones. We were able to get them from the front desk. When we complained about it, there was no relief offered. We were disappointed as we've always had great stays with this brand.

The pool was down and so were the ovens.

I was extremely disappointed with the Holiday Inn Express Forney, TX location. When we checked in there were multiple signs that stated masks were required, yet the employee behind the desk was not wearing one. When we got into our room, we found popcorn cornels and other food on the floor and black marks on the white comforter. It was obvious that our room had not been cleaned very thoroughly. We were given another room, but made sure to disinfect all surfaces because we were unsure of the cleanliness of it. The carpets in the hallways were covered in crumbs and also did not look like they had been vacuumed recently. The stairwell carpets were stained and dingy. We found this incredibly disappointing because we know this is a new building, yet it was obviously not managed well at all. We are in the middle of a pandemic, and this hotel did not make us feel like they were doing much to guarantee our safety through necessary cleaning precautions.
