Perfect View: Plenty of room for everyone to stay and play!
Bring the whole family to this lovely home with lots of room for fun. We are walking distance to Timberline Lodge and lifts for the best winter skiing experience in Canaan Valley. We are also walking distance to The Owl Market where you can pick up family sized meals pre-prepared! They have a small grocery setting, with made to order yummies, milkshakes, and coffee as well. This home not only boasts an exceptional location, but space to entertain everyone!
The stay exceeded expectations. Great location for the slopes and home was big enough for our group to be together and separate all at the same time. Great house!
This was a great property for a group! Ashley and Paige were very responsive and great to work with. We enjoyed the fireplace after rainy cold day of skiing. The youth enjoyed the ping pong and games. We would definitely go back here.
The property was great. It's very spacious, the kitchen was well appointed. There was more than enough refrigerator space, and sufficient cookware for whatever you might need. I tend to cook a lot and always bring my own things that I think I will need, just in case. But there was adequate equipment. The towels and linens were clean and ample. Everything was great. I'd do it again.
Our family had the best time at this house. The host was amazing at all times and answered every question that we had and helped us with the wedding, we were planning for our daughter. Completely above and beyond what is necessary. We also had a contact person while we were there to help with anything we needed, and she was amazing as well. We would definitely Stay here again if we needed a house for that many people again. We have never had a bad host, but by far they exceeded everyone weâve ever rented from before.
We loved the layout of this house. Plenty of room for multiple activities at the same time. Kids playing in some areas of the house did not disturb late sleepers in other parts of the house. A super large pantry allowed us to store everything we needed for the week. The house was well stocked with soap and toilet paper so we didn't need to run to the store.
We would love to give the house a 10, but we just can't. We have a difference of opinion with the owner as to what constitutes a playground - as mentioned in the listing. We did find a free-standing bench swing, but no other play equipment. Unfortunately, we could not use the swing, as the lawn, front and back, was so full of deer poop we couldn't allow the kids on the grass at all. (We got a picture of a deer leaving more for us.)
The biggest problem for us was the uneven temperature in the house. The HVAC was not working in the upstairs bedrooms. The property manager did bring us 2 fans, but no repair person and most of the week the temperature was in the low to mid 80's upstairs. We tried to block the sunlight in those bedrooms during the day. In 2 rooms we taped up aluminum foil because the blinds didn't work. One bedroom has only skylights, no windows, so we couldn't do anything. We were able to cool down some at night with the use of the attic fan, but it was too loud to keep it on all night. Meanwhile, the basement bedrooms were freezing. Still, we trust the HVAC will be fixed and would rent again.
We had a large, intergenerational family group and this house was perfect! The bedrooms worked out very well, and there was plenty of space to spread out and space to gather. We also really enjoyed the game room in the basement and the hot tub.
The location allowed easy access to the ski slopes and other activities at Timberline, Canaan Valley, and Blackwater Falls.
