Terrible mattress/outdated tub

I usually don't comment on my stays, however, since this particular condo is advertised as NEW mattress and newly renovated I felt the need to reply. The mattress is in fact the worst I've ever slept on which caused my husband and myself aches and pains as well as lack of sleep. It sags so much in the middle that we both tried to sleep on the edge of the bed. I might add that we are both very light framed people. Also, the bathroom is VERY outdated and the tub/ shower is horrible. We only received two bath towels each bc we were told there is laundry on the first floor. It did not work/ate my money & the front desk said the condo association is responsible for that and they never fix the problems. We were instructed to go to the Laundromat up the road. On the positive side, it was clean, oceanfront, & had most of what we needed in the kitchen.

The room and grounds were not as described. Failed to mention it was destroyed several years ago from hurricane and amenities still closed. We started to itch from what we think is mold. Paint can left in the room. My guess painting over the mold. The heat/air conditioning did not work and would start and then shut off, this was very loud. Their solution was to bring us a small electric heater to plug in. What a joke. Words cannot describe the filth on the grounds with pigeon and racoon poop everywhere. We have pictures of all. Our welcome letter stated access to the grounds, pools, restaurant. All these were covered in poop that has not been cleaned from what I could tell for years. Stairwells, two elevators were unusable/inoperable. Trash cans full, looks as if they have never been emptied. Bathrooms disgusting and unclean. Took pictures of the restaurant with food laying all over the counters. No employees seem to care. Standing in the lobby other people were leaving and getting refunds. We booked with an owner, he never returned calls. Only the booking would who tried to help. We communicated our complaints with no resolution. We booked three weeks and left after one day. We are very meticulous in planning. He said they had a disclaimer. If he did it should have been on the front page. Who books a resort and pays just to leave. Will seek regress from state agencies.

Hawaiian Inn 435

Everything was clean & well stocked. The sliding door handle to balcony was tied together with a string but a quick email & maintenance had a new handle installed. One issue is the mattress dips badly to the middle, so as soon as we lay down, we rolled toward the middle. The other issue would be to provide a key to renters for the side gate door. Other units at this property leave them for guests to use. It makes the walk to and from car a lot shorter when we park on that side of the property.

Bed still sucks

Bed is NOT fixed,still slopes in center. Did not sleep well and back problems everyday! The new mattress was comfortable but Clearly it’s the bed frame that has no middle support, because this piece is not attached and just laying under the bed. Your better off just sleeping on the floor with no frame. Manager stated someone would be in to fix it, of course never came during our stay. Water pressure in shower is terrible and goes from ice cold to scalding hot over and over. Both of these issues blamed on building. In talking to others they had this same problem. Tv would rapidly flicker to black and back to picture. So bad could not watch. This also blamed on building however in talking to other guests no-one had this issue, so I would suggest the tv needs replaced. The safe in room did not work to which we were told was not a listed amenity, so then why have it taking up space and collecting dust? The building is in need of major repair and sprucing it’s very run down! And don’t bother to ask the desk for an extra roll of toilet paper or recommendations for breakfast, since you are Vrbo they are rude and treat you like a 2nd rate. The room was clean and the view fantastic! It had everything we needed to cook for ourselves. There were extra beach towels left from prior guests and a canopy for the beach. The pool, bar and tiki hut were so much fun and all the guests really friendly. But not being able to get a good sleep, wind down at night with the tv or take a good shower impacted the overall stay and thus the poor stars rating.

Other than having a drain cleaned and a television replaced, which took a couple days, it was a good stay. Great beach access, good pool, reasonable prices on drinks and food . Not fancy but comfortable. Friendly, too.

Overall good place to stay

We did VRBO so all instructions were emailed to us so we didn’t have to do any checkin process. The water does get scolding hot then ice cold but if you turn cold water all the way on and hot just a tiny bit it was better. My hubby worked on toilet some and got it to flush better. The only thing I would definitely recommend owner to do is put up blackout curtains. You could see in at night if neighbors looked over wall from their room and that good ole sunshine was shining thru early but other than that we had a pleasant stay!

This is a ok unit needs to be updated the furniture looks like it came over on Noah’s ark. The bed was just ok the problem is there is a middle brace but not attached to the frame and it falls over every night. They need a deadbolt on the door or some way to lock it from in side. There is a gap under the door and every day or night someone is putting a flyer under your door. Can’t say if I would rent this unit again

Engagement stay

The stay was what we anticipated. Super easy process to check in and out. Beautiful view. The building is a little run down but the room was fine and didn’t impact our enjoyment at all. I knew going in that there had been complaints about the bed
. The mattress is fine the problem is the frame. We took the frame out and put the bed on the floor. That helped but the whole cabinet that used to be for trundle takes up a lot of space. Overall the stay was good and we have no major complaints. I would advise the owners to get rid of the trundle cabinet and get a better frame to support the box spring and mattress better.

Not what was expected

We started out stay off with finding a 2ft x 3ft hole in the bathroom wall. Apparently there was a leak in the room below. Really not the end of the world but would have been nice to know about it. Then we found food and drinks left in the fridge from whoever stayed previously. Again, not a huge deal but a little weird. The room overall is very dated as is the whole resort. But the owner probably needs to do a serious remodel. We looked in a few other rooms and they were significantly nicer. There was a cable cord that was connected to the wall but laying in the floor. There wasn't a deadbolt which didn't make my wife feel all that great. The door frames and spots on the bathroom were significantly rusted. They said the bed was replaced which the mattress seemed decent but it dipped so bad towads the center it was very uncomfortable. Overall it was a very disappointing stay. But on the positive the view and balcony were wonderful. That it did have going for it.

Great room BUT ..

The room itself was great! Except for the bed and flat pillows. The bed is so uncomfortable because it has a huge dip in the middle. We also had to go out and buy 2 pillows because the ones provided were flat. Everything else was great. We won't stay in this room again unless the bed is fixed.

I had everything I needed. I only had one glitch the shower wouldn’t adjust the water temperature would keep floating from cold to idea to hot then back to cold. But I think it was the inn that was the problem not the unit. This wouldn’t keep me from renting this place again

Location and view was great. Lounge area and staff were awesome. Room itself was very dated and so-so on cleanliness. Bed was horrible, dipped in the middle and not comfortable. Water temperature wouldn’t regulate in the shower as well as water pressure. Shower head wouldn’t stay in place. Patio wasn’t as private as thought.

Great Stay!

Very nice condo. Everything was clean as promised. Great view of the ocean. Some of the neighbors were a little loud at night, but that was expected with the spring breakers starting to show up. Otherwise, it was very quiet and enjoyable. Parking was good with no issues. The bed was a bit low in the middle, but wasn’t horribly uncomfortable.

Nice stay in an old place

As far as the Hawaiian Inn goes I would rate it 3.5. The place is a little outdated but very clean. Everyone was really nice. Plenty of amenities, nice pool and pool area. A little paint would spruce things up. As far as the condo i would rate it at 3 stars. Check in and out was really easy. The place for the most part was clean. Just like the place itself a little paint freshening up goes a long way. To start with the bathroom. Very outdated. As far as the shower and tub itself do not let any small kids use without adult supervision. No matter how much you adjust the water it will go from ice cold to scalding hot in a moment even with the hot water completely turned off. I understand this isn't condos problem but the building's problem. The kitchen area was very nice and well equipped although a new frying pan is needed. The living area is nice the bed is comfortable but the furniture is old and outdated and could use some updating. Some things that could help the condo out would be more than two pillows for the bed more than a four towels for two grown adults for the week because who wants to do laundry while they're on vacation especially the condos laundry. Other amenities like more than one roll of toilet paper and paper towels as well as beach chairs ,beach umbrellas and coolers goes a long way. The floors throughout are nice and clean but again something you have to watch out for when getting in and out of the shower or coming up from the pool cuz once they are wet they are like ice. Don't get me wrong we had a nice stay and the place was nice but I could only give it three stars. Some of it little things could easily bring the condo itself up to four possibly five stars
