The property was exactly as pictured—clean, comfortable, and in a very good location just two blocks from the beach and half a block from Atlantic Ave. We enjoyed the convenience and charm of the area.Unfortunately, a few issues impacted our stay. The bed was missing a fitted sheet, and although the host said one was in the closet, it wasn’t. He offered to resolve it, but I had brought one and handled it myself. Only three beach towels were provided despite four guests, which felt like an oversight.The most upsetting part was how the property manager handled a car issue. Our SUV broke down and we sold it, expecting the buyer to pick it up the day we left. When that didn’t happen, I responded immediately to the manager’s concerns and contacted the buyer twice. Despite my efforts, the manager became hostile, calling the situation “unreasonable” and demanding I remove a car I no longer owned. I explained that legally I couldn’t touch it, but he escalated and called the police.In all my years of renting, I’ve never encountered such an aggressive and uncooperative response from a property manager. I’ve always had respectful, professional interactions with hosts, and I take pride in being a responsible guest. This experience left me genuinely upset, and I suspect it may unfairly impact my rating. While the location and property were excellent, the handling of this situation was deeply disappointing and not reflective of the standards I’ve come to expect from VRBO stays.
