Northwind Cottage #2, Dog Friendly! Walk to the Village and the Bay

Nestled in the cedars, our pet friendly log cottage offers a peaceful retreat, and at the same time, a convenient home base for exploring all that Door County has to offer. We think you’ll love the rustic northwoods vibe. The cottage is located just a short walk from the waterfront, public beach, and the charming village of Ephraim. Take a sunset sail, go for a carriage ride, step into the past on a historical tour, or simply take a leisurely stroll on the back roads. As for food and drink, Ephraim Coffee Lab, Good Eggs, The Fashionable, Pearl Wine Bar and Wilson’s famous ice cream parlor are all nearby. Peninsula State Park is within biking distance. And of course, just a little further afield, opportunities abound for hiking, exploring nature, golfing, boating, checking out the galleries or taking in a show. Whatever your plans, we hope that you find our cottages to be a welcoming home away from home!
Northwind Cottage #2 has a fully furnished kitchen, a wood burning fireplace, a dining table for 6, and a living area perfect for gathering after a day of adventure. The cottage also has a charcoal grill, a screened porch, a picnic table and a hammock. The cottage is serviced by cable TV and wireless internet.

Northwind Cottage #2 is adjacent to Northwind Cottages #1 and #3. Not only can each cottage be rented out individually, but they are also perfect for larger family gatherings, accommodating up to 18 people total, when renting all three together.
1-2 dogs are permitted. Dogs must not be left alone in the cottage. $100 pet fee per reservation (includes 1-2 dogs).

Cozy base for exploring Door County

The cabin was clean and cozy and made an excellent home base for exploring Door County over a long weekend. My kids enjoyed the games and toys, and we made use of the fireplace on chilly evenings. The location in Ephraim is excellent - just a 10 minute walk to the local restaurants - and we find this town to be somewhat less crowded yet ideally situated for exploring the Fish Creek, Sister Bay, and Bailey's Harbor triangle. P.S. Ephraim has the most beautiful sunsets!

Great Weekend Getaway!

We recently stayed at this delightful cottage in Door County, and it exceeded all expectations! It offers the perfect blend of cozy comfort and rustic charm. The interior is thoughtfully decorated, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere with all the amenities you could need. It has easy access to both the lake and Ephraim shops. The hosts were attentive, ensuring our stay was flawless. Highly recommended!

This is a perfect place to stay in Door County. We had a group of 5, so the bed arrangement worked out great. Also it’s in the center of everything so you can go any direction that you want. Super clean and well maintained. I give it 5 stars

VERY LOUD DEHUMIDIFIER!!!!! DIRTY FURNITURE AND A MOUSE!

I had to catch and remove a mouse in the kitchen while the dehumidifier was on continuously the entire week long stay. The furniture was oily old and dirty and the rug had dog hair all over it. Even with dehumidifier on running loudly the towels never dried and the place smelled musty; we had to remove a bathroom mat because it smelled bad.

Great family vacation

We had a wonderful time at Northwinds Cottage #2! It was spacious and comfortable. The quiet cabin close to lots of restaurants and shops was a great location and a nice escape. Perfect setting for our dog to join us! Everything was clean and well kept and well stocked. Thanks for a great week!

Exceeded expectations!

Being already-familiar with the area, we knew this was an exceptional location! Nestled on a quiet drive amidst the beauty of nature, this property is also a quick, easy walk to the beauty and charm of Ephraim, including yummy restaurants, the beach, and the village. The interior is impeccably maintained, with not a speck of dirt on sight. Common living area was comfortable and cozy, and the kitchen was fully stocked with all we needed to feel at home. Upstairs bedrooms were comfortable, and bathroom was just what is needed. What was particularly appreciated was the attention to include the little things you might need (shelves by beds, nightlights, labels on switches etc) which made the stay even more enjoyable. Top it off with an idyllic porch and outdoor seating area, and you’ve got perfection!
