Gorgeous home in Fontarèches

This comfortable vacation home not far from Uzès is a beautifully converted sheepfold in an enchanting location between vineyards.



The house has a private saltwater pool surrounded by hedges and stone walls. Enjoy several terraces and a magnificent view of the vineyards to the south. The double bedroom has a shower and washbasin as well as a toilet. In the garden, which is adorned with olive trees and lavender, there are shady and sunny terraces for al fresco dining. The pool, which is cleaned every morning before 8am by the English landlords who live next door, can be heated on request and for a fee. Take a walk through the aromatic heathland around the house and breathe in the wonderful scent of thyme, lavender and mint.



Every Thursday there is a lovely farmers' market in Fontarèches where you can buy local produce. Saint-Laurent-la-Vernède is only a few minutes' drive away and offers a bakery, a small grocery store and a 15th century castle. The impressive waterfalls of Sautadet and La Roque-sur-Cèze are well worth a visit. Uzès, Nimes, Avignon and the unique Pont du Gard are also a must. The Cévennes and the Camargue offer the perfect setting for hikes in a fantastic natural landscape, and you can go canoeing on the Cèze or the Gardon. In Tavel, Lirac, Laudun and Roquemaure, or within a pleasant drive, you can visit a variety of wineries.
