We were in town for a wedding and wanted to spend a few extra days near the beach. Its not exactly close but works. Property is nice but pools not heatedđ
We have rented properties thru VRBO many times before. They have always been straightforward, simple and easy. I should have been more suspicious when this listing said there was no cancellation allowed after 24 hours or the whole payment would be forfeited. Seemed a bit severe. But it was the type of property we wanted and we knew it was a busy time in Florida, so we made the reservation and paid the full one week fee + VRBO cost.
At 10:45pm, 36 hours before we were supposed to check in , I received this email:
"You have booked our Owner Resort unit from our Owner XXXX XXXXX and XXXXX XXXXXX, you will need to provide this information to the Front Desk when they ask how your Reservation was made, please provide them that you booked directly with our Owner XXXXX XXXXX and XXXXX XXXXX. If you provide the front desk that you booked from some other site or channel, and the reservation will be cancelled, WE WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY REFUND. Please ensure that you are providing the front desk with the Owners information and that you booked from our Owner unit directly.
We wanted to make sure you have received this message kindly respond OK to this reminder to acknowledge."
So we had booked a 7 day stay and the email indicated that two different owners were involved. In the morning I called their number and talked to one of their "agents" who said indeed this was a real email from them and that I should not mention VRBO to the resort. At this point we have air fare, rental car all arranged for the next morning and, with the threat of losing our whole payment we headed to Florida.
Needless to say check-in was very uncomfortable. We had to sit down with the Front Desk Manager to try to explain our reservation even though we had no idea who the owners were. He then noted that we actually had two reservations, on for 4 days and another for three days and that our name was not on the second reservation. In front of us he called the owner to ask if in fact he did rent the unit to us. This was all very embarrassing to us.
So I will never rent from this property agent "Christian RRP" which is just a name for a group, because of the way they put renters in an untenable position, 'lie or lose your money'.
The Wyndam was very nice, very clean and the staff was the best. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We were able to skip the timeshare talk. It is an older resort but the are working hard to keep up. It is about 20 minutes from the ocean but it an easy drive.
My husband and I went through VRBO, with Christain RRP as a premier host. When we checked in on February 27th, we were told that our reservation was guaranteed through March 4th. My husband showed Reno (Property Manager) our reservation was through Mach 27th he assured us he would look into it. That never happened. I called VROB myself several times only to be placed on hold for over 20 minutes, and then disconnected. On March 4th we were locked out of our room. It took over 3 hours to find another reservation for us, again not under our name. Reno finally agreed that this was a scam. On March 11th we were locked out again until another reservation could be found for us. Another 2 hours wasted, but again another reservation was found, this time through March 19th. On March 19th I received n E-mail from VRBO stating that Christain had overbooked and we needed to vacate immediately. This man is a fraud, and I would run fast as he does not refund monies owed, and no support from VRBO. There were 5 other families that were scammed by him that I witnessed while in the Hotel Lobby attempting to figure our our reservation. All with crying and disappointed children. How he closes his eyes at night is beyond me. Still waiting to here from VRBO, or even get a cent of my money back.
I was given an ok unit on the 2nd floor but there were ants all over the kitchen
After unpacking and grossed out I was able to move and it was very inconvenient but I had no choice
I was also in a building across the parking lot with no hood way to move my luggage alone
I would have preferred being in the main building but the second unit I was in was ok
The doors to the small balconies were not easily unlocked
All in all it was ok and fulfilled my needs
We had a great week at Palm-Aire. And Christian was so terrific at responding to emails and smoothing out issues with the reservation. Just one caveat: The pictures in the VRBO listing are not necessarily pictures of the room you'll receive
Beautiful property and a great location! We enjoyed the heated pools, hot tubs and chatting with other guests. Condo was clean and had everything needed to enjoy our visit.

Good property and room. However, we had 5 day reservation that got shortened to 3 days because of a change in property ownership. We got a refund but had to find another place to stay with only a week or two notice.
