Tarpon Tale Inn was the best experience my husband and I have had on Sanibel Island! Absolutely beautiful facilities! Gorgeous rooms! The service was impeccable and flawless! They communicate so well with you throughout your stay and go above and beyond their call of duty to make sure your stay is heavenly! We will be back soon for sure! Our family and friends will definitely know where to go to experience a relaxing and luxurious getaway! Thank you Tarpon Tale for everything! We can’t wait to see you again!

Free bikes to ride around the island! Room was clean, neat and orderly! Beach towels clean and available in our room. It would have been nice to have dishes and eating utensils available for our use. Also, a washer and dryer on site would have been nice!

Hello Thank you for taking the time to write about your stay with us. We love to hear when guests have enjoyed the Inn and the bikes. Every room at the Inn (with or without kitchens) is supplied with dishes, cups, glasses ,wine glasses , and utensils in the rooms. I'm sorry I didn't know you had not seen them and that I didn't get the chance to point them out to you. You were in our Island Sunset suite with the full kitchen. Island Sunset has pots , pans , dishes, measuring cups, spoons, baking dishes , spatulas , pizza cutters, and baking ware in the large kitchen armoire next to the dinning table. I am sorry you missed them during this stay but hope you will return. Thank you, Dawn

Privacy, homey-feel of unit, location. Also ease of parking. Bicycles provided; don't miss using the bike paths on Sanibel.

Sweet place

We visited Tarpon Tale for our 50th wedding anniversary and were delighted. The Inn is small but the room was spacious, clean, comfortable and was decorated in keeping with the island. The Amenities were numerous and almost everything is within walking or bicycling distance. Would go again in a heartbeat!

Very Pleasant Place to Stay

Pros: Just about everything!
Cons: The AC unit was set on 'energy saver' and did cycle very noisily and at very frequent intervals all night long our first night. Fixed by Dawn.
Location: A five minute walk through a residential area to the south beach.
Although this motel has been around for some years, it is truly a delightful place to stay! As other reviewers have noted, everything you could ever use for the beach is available at no extra charge. Dawn is also available if you need anything at all. The ice cream shop and Lighthouse Cafe across the road are both definite pluses; and there are numerous places to eat within a short driving distance. We, too, were upgraded, as the motel was not full at the time we were there. The room we were in was very homey and comfortable and had all supplies one would need for cooking meals, if we had wanted to do so. When we brought the problem with the AC unit to Dawn's attention, she showed us how to remedy the situation. You have to have a remote to change the settings, and that was missing from our room. The second night was much better with the setting on 'constant fan'. Many thanks to Dawn; enjoyed meeting you and the owners!

Great stay

Pros: The hospitality of the owner/manager and that so much is provided for you.
Location: Across the street is an ice cream shop, deli and bakery, and a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch.
These folks go way above and beyond. First off Dawn upgraded us to a larger room with full kitchen without being asked. The room was nicely furnished and clean. Although we were in a room (Lighthouse I) facing the road, we never heard traffic. All you really need to pack is your clothes. They provide beach towels, beach chairs, beach toys, bikes, beach carts, a place to clean sea shells, and outdoor shower to rinse the sand off. If you need anything after the office closes, just call Dawn - she gives you her cell number. Need to wash the salt out of your swimsuits? Just drop a dollar in the jar and you are welcome to use the hotel washer and dryer. What does Tarpon Tale not have? There is not a pool, but you have the ocean a block or so away. They do not have maid service during your stay, but Dawn shows you where extra towels and linens are if you need them. A/C worked great for us, wireless internet had strong signal. We did not have a single complaint about our stay. This is NOT a resort, but it has everything you need for a very comfortable stay. We will be back. And across the street is an ice cream shop, deli and bakery, and a restaurant that serves breakfast and lunch.
