There's a restaurant on site, as well as a coffee shop/cafe. You can enjoy a drink at the bar/lounge. Free breakfast is available daily. Public spaces have free WiFi.
Godstone Hotel also features a terrace, a garden, and express check-out. Free self parking is available.
no one in when we arrived, had to wait for owner who was on his way back from Bletchingly. Hotel undergoing renovations and apparently had a recent flood, looks like it. Hence no evening meals available even though nothing was mentioned when booking/web site A simple tidy up and weeding front entrance would help. Car park full of old vans. Food ok, but took a long time coming. Photo of hotel is an old one, taken during better times.
Do not stop here unless you like visitors in the night, see pictures below.
We had to wait around for 20 minutes to get checked in as nobody was on site.
We have had no support from hotels.com as all they are saying is that they cannot get hold of the person in charge, and we must wait another 48hours. I mean that says it all really!!
Cockroaches scurrying around at night and his knows what during the day.
Stop here at your own peril !
Awful hotel recent flood damage so hotel and bar closed prior warning of this would have been useful. Carpark full of broken furniture and a skip. Room dingy and smelly, broken drawers and lightbulbs. Generally v v run down. In spite if paying we declined to stay as couldn't face sleeping there
Initially - a little concerned - then learnt they had suffered flood damage which had rendered the bar and restaurant out of action.
However there was a restaurant no more than 100 paces away which made us most welcome after mentioning where we came from and had an excellent evening meal.
The issues were more than compensated by the friendliness of the staff and the the breakfast was the best I have had for years.
Under the circumstances - well-done Godstone Hotel
The room was clean and tidy but the inn was mid restoration, and it showed, there was no bar or restaurant however breakfast was available and was amazing. We had no major problems with the accommodation but felt they could do more to hide the signs of the refurb.
Had a lovely stay at the Godstone hotel and was treated very well by all members of staff who made me feel very welcomed. Food was great and room was clean and tidy. Would stay again.
Lovely friendly greeting from owners. Even though the kitchen had just finished they made us the most delicious Sunday roast. Breakfast was excellent each morning, cooked fresh to order and piping hot. The rooms need some upgrading as does the main pub, the owners are trying their best to do this but understandably with Covid and being an independent hotel this is going to be a long process and we wish them luck and every success.
The owners and their staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was comfortable and clean. The food and presentation was excellent and the chef was flexible with any request to vary a particular dish. There are currently some upgrading works being carried out. I would definitely stay there again.
