A wonderful three night stay! There was a problem with our booking but the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated. They really wanted to ensure our stay was great and were very kind and attentive. Honestly the best staff we’ve ever encountered at a hotel and we travel a lot. About the hotel itself: the beds are great, the shower is strong, and the A/C works well. Read your room description well: there are some rooms with “internal” windows which open into a very small and dark courtyard. Our room had an “external window” which meant it had a balcony overlooking the park and lake across the street. Big difference if light is important to you, and street noise was negligible. The breakfast room on the top floor was large and surrounded by windows, the breakfast itself was extensive and delicious. The location of the Del Rey property is perfect to explore Old Quarter; we prefer it to the Citadel location. Overall highly recommended small hotel, we will stay again!

It’s hard to fault this place. This hotel has one of the best locations in Hanoi: directly facing the lake, plus the best of both worlds between the Old Town and the French Quarter. On arrival, you are met with a very warm welcome. No queueing up at a reception desk here. The staff come to meet you. I didn’t see the other rooms, but the junior suite was excellent. Elegant decor, large comfortable bed, and a small balcony with a view of trees and the lake. No walk-in shower though; my room had a deep bathtub. Breakfast is served on the top floor restaurant, with a good array of buffet choices as well as food cooked to order. There’s a panoramic view of the city too. Finally, if you want to end your day with a cocktail, there’s a small but attractive roof terrace bar. You can’t go wrong with this hotel. Just book it.
