Full Cabin: 7 Steps to the Lake! PET FRIENDLY

The Fish Cabin is literally just 7 steps from the lake, putting you right at the water’s edge.

This cozy cabin features two bedrooms, one bathroom, and a full kitchen equipped with a gas stove, microwave, refrigerator, toaster, drip coffee maker, and enough cookware, dishes, and flatware to make your stay comfortable. Inside, you’ll also find a small dining table, a futon, and an armchair—perfect for relaxing after a day on the lake.

We’re a pet-friendly resort, so your furry friends are welcome! A fee of $25 per pet, per night applies.

Enjoy 1 GB WiFi that reaches all the way to the end of the dock, along with Roku TV and Spectrum service for your entertainment.
Recent updates include a beautiful new live-edge countertop, sink, and backsplash, plus new ceiling fans in each bedroom.
Towels and bed linens are now provided for your convenience.

Outside, you’ll find a picnic table, a Weber charcoal grill, and a couple of chairs for enjoying the fresh air. Shared amenities include the beach, dock, fire pit, kayaks, tetherball, shuffleboard, and a fish cleaning station. There is also plenty of private parking located directly across the street for vehicles and trailers.
It also has a NEW live edge countertop, sink and backsplash! We also added new fans to each bedroom. And do provide towels and linens for the beds now too!
Shared amenities are the beach, dock, fire pit, kayaks, tetherball, shuffleboard, and a fish cleaning station. There is plenty of private parking right across the street for your vehicles and trailers.
The Houghton Lake area almost has too many things to mention. We are walking distance to the copper gazebo where the birdwatching and fishing are incredible. Swimming, boating (several local places to rent pontoons) , waterskiing, GOLF (many great courses in the immediate area), fishing, hiking, ORV’s are for rent right down the street (snowmobiles too), geocaching (one of the largest in the state), shopping, eating, kayaking, color tours, cross country skiing, sledding, and many, many more things to do here.

All cameras actively record video and audio when motion is detected and will be turned on during your stay

Met with family. The kids really enjoyed the beach and the water. It was ideal for younger kids. The cabin is very small but was adequate for our group. The little group of cabins it was among were friendly and casual.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary little getaway. Its a cute little cabin right on the water. I wish it was nicer out so we could have played in the water more but otherwise we very much enjoyed our stay :) also the beds were super comfy!

Great week at White Tail Family Resort

Great place to stay and enjoy the awesome views of the lake! We have 3 younger boys and they had so much fun swimming, going on kayaking adventures and playing at the beach as well as catching fish right off the dock! Tom is making improvements and the cleaning service fee is worth it! I'd highly recommend staying here, we loved it so much we made the decision to stay another 2 nights!

Great property.

The big show was the fall colors on the lake. Being able to open the blinds or step out the door to a beautiful crisp sunrise on the lake is worth it! Tom is a stand up guy and we wish him the best in life.

Smaller than expected.

It was a nice little place very close to the lake. The beach is small and cabin was smaller than expected and very close to the other cabins, not a lot of privacy if thats what you’re looking for this might not be the place for you. Other than that the place was great, pet friendly and me and my husband had a good stay.

Quaint vintage cabin

Nice location with a good spot to swim. Several nice kayaks plus kiddie kayaks free to use. Aluminum boats to rent reasonably. Nice dock with plenty available space to dock your own and space for your boat trailer as well. I would like to see a few more outlets inside the cabin, instead of extension cords throughout the place. However, it is a vintage cabin, and one has to remember the era that it was built without the need for so many plug-ins!

Lady Bugs and Cobwebs

I rented this unit for one day. Before calling it quits, I had to kill over 15 ladybugs. VRBO and the Host were late responding and said that bugs in the unit were "to be expected." I didn't even hear from the Host the day of, only the next day I got an email. There were also huge cobwebs over the bed in the bedroom. The unit was not properly cleaned, They ignored the images with bugs. I will never use again. There are cracks in the wood panel, the unit is not insulated, just an overall disappointment. but bugs in units are not acceptable. You have been warned.
