This hotel is / was closed upon arrival

The parking lot was completely dark. Check in was closed and in fact - the whole hotel was closed and didn’t give me notice. I read a sign that said walk 500 feet to another hotel to check in. Thankfully they let me stay there.

Loved the view from our room, easy access to the lake and restaurants, room was nice and clean and roomy, was pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed our stay, the front of the property could use a make over which would make it more inviting, but all in all, it was a nice place for the price!

Up here for 3 days of fishing. Property was convenient by walking to restaurants and harbor area. Check in was a little different because the main office was down the street from actual motel. My room AC unit was not working properly and was warm inside. We kept trying to get it cool. The bathroom had ants and that was disgusting. We kept our luggage on top of racks in room once we learned of the bugs. We were supposed to stay for 3 days here, but left the property early. When I checked out I explained my displeasure with the employee. I don’t think I will stay here again. We stayed at another hotel and spent more money than expected because of this.

This was a unique stay. Cons 1. there’s no lobby/front desk and check in is up the street so you have to tote all your luggage down the street walking if you don’t have a car 2. The building itself feels unstable and my entire 2nd floor room shook when people went up/down the stairs. Pros 1. Able to use the resort amenities at the sister property up the street such as the pool, etc. while paying a cheaper price 2. The room was pretty nice and was very similar to the pricier rooms up the street (where I’ve stayed before) bathroom had a heat light which was unexpected and a really nice touch. Overall not bad. I’d stay there again in a pinch but unless they get their own check in desk probably not likely.

The service staff at the Harbor Hotel front desk were very nice and accommodating. The Ocean Inn is very rundown…the outside painting is peeling everywhere. The safe in our room didn’t open at all and the AC unit was sporadic. We had stray people sitting in the chair outside our room almost every night which made us feel uneasy since they weren’t workers or guests of the hotel. That being said, the location was very good!

Bathroom infested with ants. Moldy shower. Multiple water damage areas on walls. Air vents full of dust. Parking lot didn’t feel safe. Sketchy people all over. Pool was blocked off. No notification on website or Expedia to notify. Place was overall dingy and gross. Do not recommend.
