Hotel rate included a "continental breakfast" --all 3 mornings we were there they were out of yougart and eggs and there was not fruit except bottled orange juice. There was a market down the street, but the surly teenager in charge said he wasn't authorized to buy anything. Also, the king mattress was old and needs to be replaced. There were no reading lights in the bedroom. Nicely located but poorly run property.

The staff were nice. The place is in a good location for Islamorada. It's close to Theater of the Sea, Publix, Islamorada Fish Co., etc.. Number one, was no elevator so you'll be lugging whatever you brought upstairs if you're on an upper floor, which we were..three flights of stairs. Both the couch and bed had seen better days as they both creaked everytime you sat or moved on them. Both were uncomfortable . There was no light fixture in bedroom area.We had to go to office to get one. The door between the bedroom and living room won't close as it got stuck on the floor and wouldn't go any further. There is no housekeeping whatsoever. We were there 3 nights and no garbage pickup and no fresh towels. Breakfast was a couple bagels available and a toaster with cream cheese..I believe there was a bowl with oranges..We didn't go back after first morning. I don't remember what else, not much..it was easier to pick up something at Publix. But, you are in the Keys, so there is that. The view is beautiful. Also, we did see that maybe at some point they may have had working grills, but while we were there, they were way too old and broken down. I was told they are doing some renovations, so perhaps all will be well when someone else visits.

Staff and management were 5 star. The property at best is a "C" class. If the owners would invest in it, it would be "A" property. Cheap string light bulbs out side, left on all night, shinning in the room. Ice machine out of order. In room refrigerator not working. I had to ask for spray to kill the bugs in the room. Extermination is needed. (I had 3 different types of bugs. ) Blinds were falling apart when you closed the patio blinds. For a room that could sleep up to 6 people. They give you only one chair to sit at, at the table and only one FORK to eat with in the dinette area. Good thing there was only 2 of us. All small issues that could be resolved if they would reinvest in their investment. Not what guests want to experience on vacation.
