It’s fenced and gated with easy access by water to both the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf. You can dock your boat right at the house! | | FEATURES: | | Two master suites with private bathrooms, queen size beds, linens, flat-screen TVs, Wi-Fi, and ceiling fans. | | Fully equipped modern kitchen, all new appliances, Corian sink and countertops with a counter-height table and chairs. | | Ten-foot sliding doors open out to the swimming pool that is heated for winter guests and chilled for summer guests. | | Pool incorporates a 5' depth with bench seating on two sides, the perfect place for enjoying a cool beverage. The house is in a great location in Key Colony Beach, quiet, central, and right on the water. We loved having space to park our boat and trailer, plus the ability to dock the boat behind the house. The backyard is very cute with a pool, tiki hut, and a small putt-putt area. However, several issues affected our stay. We never received check-in instructions and had to call multiple times on arrival day. The house wasn’t very clean when we arrived, floors had dirt spots, and there was dust on the fans and in the bathrooms. One bed sinks in the middle and both were uncomfortable, so we switched rooms. The kitchen is fully stocked, but many utensils had rust. The listing mentions a grill, but both propane tanks were empty, and we were told the property doesn’t replace them, which felt misleading. Pool workers also entered the yard unexpectedly during our stay and asked us to run the water for 30 minutes. The dock cleats weren’t very helpful for tying up our boat, and the outdoor lighting is very dim at night. We had to use our boat lights to fillet fish. The dishwasher doesn’t clean the top rack due to a missing part, the fridge filter is at “0” so water and ice can’t be used, and a towel rack in the bathroom was hanging loose. The listing also says the home has cable, but there was none, and we had to stream everything from our own devices. Overall, it’s a nicely located property with good potential, but lacks cleansiness and maintenance.

Excellent stay at Flamingo Nook. The location is fantastic. Key Colony Beach is a beautiful and convenient community, almost in the middle of the Keys. The design and privacy for the pool and deck are the highlight of the property. On average we spent at least 8 hours a day enjoying them! Two small areas of disappointment: (1) when we checked in, we had to vacuum the kitchen floor (egg shells and large food crumbs from prior visitors were on the floor); and (2) the listing and welcome binder both said there was cable included in the rental, but sadly there were no cable boxes. On top of that, the bed room TV was unplugged and the outlet is very high. Aside from this we would definitely stay again and will recommend Flamingo Nook to anyone!

Our family of 4 vacationed in Marathon to get some fishing and lobstering before school started. Flamingo nook was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted something on the water where we could dock our boat and we wanted a pool to be able to cool down in. We were able to keep the trailer on the property which was great as well. We had plenty of outdoor storage for all of our fishing and scuba equipment. The dock was newer and had a fish cleaning station which we used a lot. The property location makes it very convenient to enter the Gulf of America or the Atlantic. Easy in, easy out. The neighborhood was peaceful and felt like out personal property was safe and secure. We noticed police cars driving around the neighborhood multiple times during our stay. There was a strong police presence, even patrolling the canals. The house was perfect for me, my wife and two teen age sons. We were fortunate to be able to catch multiple mahi, yellowtail (as well as others) and lobster on our trip. We used the outside grill several times as well and it was clean and in good working order. The screened outside patio was great to escape to when we needed to. The inside of the house was modern and beachy and very cozy. It was nice to be able to do a few loads of laundry while we were down there. The pool was clean and chilled to a perfect temperature to escape the afternoon heat. It was just a great overall property and experience. The owners were very easy to communicate

Excellent vacation

One of the best places we have stayed in KCB. We stayed at Flamingo Nook for 2 weeks. The place is beautiful! The pool, the screened porch and the entire home is beautiful! You can tell it has recently been refurbished and that the owners take pride in their home! We have already booked for 2026! Thanks for a great vacation!

Very nice place ...

Please read ALL of review and not just concerns/cons. Thank you.1). Cons/issues: a). Pool was not cleaned (maintenance schedule(?) or weather timing(?) with a small metal spring and a metal angle bracket found in pool to which I removed, and the pool pump had known issues that were needing to be fixed (LOUD). b). First bathroom sink drain was draining slow and toilet ball valve slow-leaked. c). In the hall up on the wall near the first bathroom was some bare wiring (missing smoke alarm?). The next day after reporting the pool issue, maintenance came in and wired/connected the emergency light to the bare wire. d). After pool pump was fixed, pool heater no longer worked. e). After pool pump was fixed, outside lights along the palm trees and the mini-putt no longer worked.2). Pros: a). Communication with Chandler was friendly and prompt. b). Pool pump was fixed. c). Bathroom concerns were fixed promptly. d). Nice place.If pool heater and outdoor/outside lights are fixed, my wife and I would not hesitate to stay again.

Flamingo Nook

We booked our stay after combing through dozens of places. This little gem was just what we needed. It was clean, fully equipped, has an adorable pool and a place to dock our boat. It’s also located in the middle of Marathon so it is close to everything. Buyer beware—it says it sleeps 4 people but that you can make special requests for extra guests. However, this property really only means 4 people. No exceptions.

Flamingo Nook Review - 27April2024

My wife and I along with another couple had a great week at Flamingo Nook and the KCB-Marathon area. Flamingo Nook was perfect for four people. Kitchen was well equipped, beds slept well, plenty of towels including beach towels. The staff at Key Colony Beach Realty were excellent to work with. Thanks to Casey and Tyler for answering my questions and communicating when we could get in, etc. The Cabana Club was a nice plus! Large pool, nice little beach, good bar for an adult beverage and excellent staff. The pool at Flamingo Nook was a great plus. It was nice to cool off and relax after an afternoon on the boat. Dockage is good with the tide slide mooring setup. Dock was big enough for a 21-foot boat with no problem. All in all, it was a very good vacation. We would stay at Flamingo Nook again.

The pictures do not do this place justice. The water is seriously out your door. We had a couple of concerns based off the reviews. The kitchen sink was replaced. Grill was brand new and had 2 new tanks of gas. Pool was clean. Great central location for day trips to Key West. Would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely Stunning!

When I booked this property, I was already hooked on the amenities. But then I got there it was more than I could ask for! My family (boys 10 and 7 + husband (I mean really 3 kids! Ha) and I enjoyed seeing the manatees, pelicans, herons, yellowtail snapper, mutten snapper, etc off the dock. To top it off swimming after a long day of being on the boat. It was amazing! We will be booking here again.

Loved our stay at the Flamingo Nook!

Everything was as described. I have rented in Key Colony multiple times and loved the location, the property, and the canal. Rental was clean and the kitchen was stocked with plenty of pots and pans. Had a little bit of an issue with the hospitality app that was used for check-in/communication not showing new messages but that is due to the app and/or my phone and I was very happy my call was answered on the weekend to help us check-in. Would definitely stay again!

Beautiful place to stay. The private pool was a huge bonus for us, we were in it all day long. Enjoyed being on the canal and watching the boats, birds, and jellyfish. The house has everything you need. Nicely decorated, comfortable beds. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
