Worse hotel I never been

Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: Hotel need to be tear down and rebuilt
Location: Location is great and lots of things around like other hotel you can go to
This place is a total mess, first sign is the parking lot, weeds growing everywhere, as soon you enter the hotel you can smell the moldy air, carpets are very dirty, walls are dirty and damages,. The smell in my room was awful like a mix of rotten food, vomit and mold. The sheets had multiple stains and don't even want to know about the pillows. Bathroom was dirty etc..... For the price they charge I was expecting at lest a 3 stars hotel, I travel a lot for work and this the worse I never seen and I have been to some really bad place. Ownership only care about profit not you and your family. I will rated this hotel at ZERO. .

Not so fabulous

Pros: The price was cheaper than other hotels which was nice. The hotel did have a pool as well, which unfortunately we din't have time to use.
Cons: They definitely need to update this hotel. They also need to start paying to get the parking lot plowed
Location: The location was good. Next to the beer store and a couple grocery stores. Only 3/5 minute drive from the mall and movie theatre.
Upon arriving we weren't excited about the appearance. It looked sort of like an old factory on the outside (no windows and tiny doorway). They hadn't even plowed the parking lot of the snow (lucky my car had snow tires). The lobby was pleasant but when we headed to our first floor room, through some very shifty doorways, the hallway outside our room smelled of marajuana. Luckily inside our room did not. The room was surprisingly large, but the setup of the furniture was very awkward. The room was old and dirty looking. Wallpaper partially peeling, the cover of the smoke detecter missing, rusty looking bathtub and even no lightbulbs in lamps. But the bed was clean and the 3 doors attached to the room had locks so we decided to stay for our two nights. Midnight arrived and all of a sudden the marajuana smell started seeping in our room (most likely an occupants next to us was smoking and the smoke was seeping under the door). We called the desk and asked to be moved, they said if we could handle waiting, it would be easier in the morning. We waited until 3am then couldn't handle it. We packed and had them switch us. The man informed us that it would be hard to discover which room the smell was from and even if they did, the person would claim it was medicinal (although even if thats the case we were on a no smoking floor). Second room was cleaner and the set up better. Although, the lamps in the room weren't plugged in (they had a slight lack of wall outlets.

Worst hotel ever.

Cons: Noisy, Poor breakfast
I have never stayed at a hotel in such decay. This hotel should be demolished and rebuilt. Bathrooms rusty, doors that did not close securely, dirty floors. Missing towels everyday. And then they rent the patio/restaurant out to bike gangs and for cardgames. The noise was horrific as our room was right beside the patio. Staff sat outside all day in the patio smoking and making noise. I was truly afraid to stay in this hotel. DON'T BOOK this hotel ever.

This property is just waiting to be torn down. Reminds me of the Shining. Look elsewhere.

clean up your act

Pros: the bed was big and very comfortable as were the pillows
Cons: they need to up date the furniture, fix the hot tub, heat the pool and clean the elevator
Location: lots of things to do but we went there mainly to visit family and attend a wedding
we were moved to this place because the hotel we reserved was over booked, they advertise a hot tub but that has not worked in years according to the staff, the in door pool was ice cold, the elevator was filithy, although the staff was friendly and helpful, the dirt around the hotel showed that they may clean around things but the dirt is still there. the furniture in the room was old and worn although the bed was great. you could not take food from the breakfast area ( not even to your room ) without being charged &10,00, If we had to pay the real price for the room we would have not stayed there thank goodness for the discount.

Pretty Bad.

Cons: located next to the noisy highway
I don't normally write negative reviews (there are already plenty of those), but I'm compelled in this case. This Howard Johnson is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. First off, there was no one there. It was completely vacant. I did not see another guest the entire week I was there. While I don't need other people around, this is indicative of how the place felt. Like a ghost ship in the fog. The carpets were sticky dirty, HVAC rattled and was hanging loose from the wall partially dismantled, and the plumbing hardly worked. I mean, this place really looked bad. I felt like getting a tetanus booster when I got home. On the positive, the WiFi in the lobby was good enough to make a Skype call.

Would not stay there again!

We stayed there for two nights in October 2010 and I must say, I'd never go there again. The rooms were small, the beds hard and the bathrooms dirty. The shower walls had water/soap scum all over and the bottom of the bathtub was filthy. The hot tub/whirlpool was also dirty and the jets barely worked. The only good thing I can say is that the staff were friendly and the included continental breakfast was decent.

Trip to Canada

I rented 3 rms for group. One room had no security bar on balcony. Hotel full of hockey teams. Very noisey!!! Had to call front desk. Stayed 2 days. After 1st day towels were not replaced. Had to ask for more. Had made 3 separate reservations-seemed to confuse owner. Asked multiple times to explain it to him. Asked to make copy of Confirmation print outs. Breakfast was pretty good although had to ask for more juice and milk when we got to breakfast. Pool and hot tub was great. Location good for our trip.

Enjoyable experience

I went to this hotel with some trepidation, but, after staying at the hotel for a few days, I don't know where these people get off. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The room and the hotel in general was very clean and well-maintained, the pool was warm and it was really close to this great restaurant that my wife and I enjoyed. All in all, it was a great experience for the price that I paid (especially once I found out that a continental breakfast was offered the next day) and I would gladly refer it to anyone.
