Looks are deceiving and the pictures do not do this location justice! This cabin is absolutely amazing! We spent the first two hours marveling at all the intricacies inside! There are many old books to look at and glance at. The showers in the room made it easy around bedtime while we were tending to 3 children on our trip. A playpen was provided for us and was set up when we arrived. I ran into a neighbor as well who was very friendly. I would highly recommend and would definitely come back to check out the sites and attractions nearby in the book about the house. There is also a book explaining the history of the house. As history buffs, we thoroughly enjoyed our time!
Beautiful old cabin with fantastic woodwork. Comfortable bed with very nice linens and great towels. Quiet area but still close to the interstate and the Lexington area. We loved it.
Absolutely love the house and all the pieces in it that take you back in time. Especially love the letter written by Abraham Lincoln hanging on the stairwell. And love the book showing all the hard work that was done to rebuild this home. Very comfortable and homie would definitely stay again.
We checked in and entered the home, only to find out that it had been rented for the same night on another platform. (We booked five months out, but somehow this did not show as unavailable on the other platform!) As the other party had already established occupancy and left their luggage there, we were asked to leave. The host assisted with the refund and contributed to our hotel expense at a nearby property. Unfortunate circumstances, but handled well by the host. Would have liked to have stayed the night - the place looked really cozy.
Meet Friends and had a great time, liked having the bathroom in each bedroom, was able to get around town easily, as stated needed a while to warm up but it did and was able to find a 100% Gluten free restaurant that was easy to get to.
Very clean and easy to find. TV's in both bedrooms. Great water pressure and hot water. Ate at Waterfront Grill-- great food especially French fries. Went to the Natural Bridge - a good hike.
The cabin was well stocked and clean. It was adorably decorated with antique decor and comfortably furnished. Plenty of pillows and linens. Convenient to the interstate in a quiet neighborhood. It suited our family well, with husband, wife and three children, 12, 10 and 6 yo. But if I had a baby or toddler it might have been a bit difficult because of the stairs/accessibility. Otherwise, we didn't have any issues.
This was a cool place to stay for our family. It had the perfect amount of space for two adults and two children. It was clean and welcoming. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
Dogs, husband and I had a great sleep in this charming cabin. Hot strong showers, comfy king size bed and plenty of kool antiques to peruse. Only nego was there were only flavored coffees for the Keurig. Yuck. For the price you canât beat this place in the area. Thank you.
We had a super cozy and unique experience staying here at this cabin. We felt like it was a trip back in time. The beds were all so cozy and the location was perfect for us to visit the Ark and my sister and her family who live close by. We are thankful and when we come back to visit family we will stay here again. Thank you for the hospitality.
Cut short due to storm that killed the power and blew the back door wide open, causing rain and water to come in the cabin while we were away shopping. Realize that the door was unable to lock and was never even closed at all. The deadbolt the front door does not even lineup and would not work.
The grass on the property was at least a foot-long, driveway was basicly two grassy ruts. Almost got stuck, trying to get away from the property.
Had a nice relaxing time, even though there was a rain storm on Saturday evening. We ordered food in and watched an old movie. Visited a local spot for dinner Friday night and enjoyed it a lot.
Not many people can say they stayed in a historic cabin before and this was a fun experience. It is historic and gives you a taste of history, but with modern conveniences.
