We had a basic but clean room, accessible and right in the middle of the centre literally minutes from all the main attractions.

Grand building, downstairs very elegant. Unfortunately the room itself was tired, bathroom had damaged plastic panels, sealer around the bath looked like it had heen put on with a inch wide brush, the carpet in the bedroom was burnt and stained, and the window was filthy. On the plus side, the room was warm, we slept all night, and with a little attention to detail, it could probably look nice again. Also, couldn't fault the cooked breakfast.

Rooms definitely need repair and modernisation. The central heating didn’t work at all in the first room , and the reception staff was helpful in relocating us in a different room, but unfortunately, the central heating didn’t work either , but there was a small electric heater , so we used that instead to take the chill off the room. We were only staying one night so didn’t want to move room again. The conditions of both rooms were tired and there were areas which need repair. The quality of the breakfast was poor but I suppose for £11 per head I can’t expect any more, but some of the plates and cutlery still had food debris stuck on them which were not really acceptable. On a positive note, All the staff we came across were helpful and friendly.

Love the character of this lovely old building. Was able to check in early and to have luggage stored securely on check out. Bathroom been refurbished, but I did miss having a bath. Great location.

The hotel was exceptionally clean. The bathrooms lovely. It was decorated lovely for christmas. The architecture was amazing and the original detsils were great. Only complaint would be it needs new mattesses

Went to the online checkin counter and was told rather sternly to stand by the Christmas tree while one guest in front of me was being served. Lots of guests then arrived and queued behind the first guest. Being in the hospitality industry, I expected the staff to call me and serve me next, but sadly, no. I did just brush this off, but the hotel did feel unwelcoming and I'm not planning on staying in any Britannia hotel anytime soon.

Do not believe the pictures showing nice rooms. The real rooms are tiny and cramped. The bed was very uncomfortable. We left after half an hour and booked a different hotel instead. Bloody awful, avoid at all costs.

The location and breakfast were great however, the room was severely lacking and for the price I paid I damn well expect there to be running hot water for a shower and a comfortable bed to sleep in. The beds mattress was thin and very uncomfortable. The bathroom looks amazing however no hot water is just pathetic and quite frankly embarrassing. I will not be staying again.

Breakfast needs sealed yoghurts & fresh fruit choices not tinned fruit ( do not like open food for people to cough or sneeze over ) should be covered . Otherwise it was ok Whole hotel very grand , a lot of areas unused & shut off - the only time we saw any guests was at breakfast otherwise not a soul . Having said that it was warm & quiet which we like as we were out & about all day . Liverpool was wonderful & we enjoyed our stay
