The place looks absolutely superb. The character of the building, the thematic attention to detail and the lighting are all really special. We were offered a free upgrade to a suite - with a grand piano in the living room! Really special. I did occasionally feel it was a bit “style over substance” - the quality of things like the breakfast, the coffee and the bed’s comfort didn’t quite match the impressive cosmetics. The TV and room lighting was more complicated than necessary. A few little tweaks here and there would make this a mega stay.

Loud music from a local bar ran through until 2:15 am and the inadequate should proofing of the windows meant we heard it all. 3 hours later the glass and rubbish collection was equally clear and loud. “Table service” at the on-site bar meant sitting and waiting at our table for 5 minutes, before approaching the idle staff for a drink. So a bit meh.

The rooms are small old and smelly . Definitely not 4 stars. The desk staff was somewhat rude both my dad and I have once forgotten a key card in our room and I was told they would charge me for a lost card while it was simply in the room. We arrived at 14:50 and it was impossible to get our rooms or do anything about it since it was not 3 pm yet. In short nothing to make our stay enjoyable. The location and theme are great but that's it
